(a)
In the Load Flow Analysis, the system busses are generally classified into
three types. Briefly describe the busses.

(b) One-line diagram of four bus power system with bus-1 as the slack bus is
shown in Figure 1. The network has line reactance in per-unit values with line
charging susceptances are neglected. Form the bus admittance matrix for this
network.

(a)Consider a typical bus of a power system network as shown in Figure 2 . By
using the Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL), prove that:

(b)In the power system network shown in Figure 3, bus 1 is a slack bus with V1 =
1.OZO per unit and bus 2 is a load bus with S2 2 80MW+j60 War. The
line impedance on a base of 100MVA is Z =0.02+j0.04 per unit. Using
Newton-Raphson method, determine V2 . Use an initial estimate of V = 1.0+
jO.0 and perform two iterations.

(a) Briefly discuss the importance of fault analysis in a power system studies.

Consider a 3-bus system consists of a generator (Gi) and transformers (Ti, T2
& T3) as shown in Figure 4 with the details data as given in Table 1. A three-
phase balanced fault occurred at point F. By using 100 WA, 20 kV as a
common base and the circuit reduction method;
(i) Draw the impedance diagram with all impedance marked in per-unit
(ii) Compute the fault current at point F

The one line diagram of a simple power system is shown in Figure
6. The system data
expressed in per-unit on a common 100 MVA base is tabulated in Table 2. The
generators are running on no-load at their rated voltage and rated frequency with their
EMF in phase.
