Israel 'on brink of third intifada' after new car attack -

Kate Shuttleworth
A second car attack in Jerusalem, coupled with further confrontations at the Al
Aqsa mosque, have increased fears of a third intifada
Israel was feared to be descending into a third intifada on Wednesday night
after a police officer was killed and 14 people injured in a car attack, the
second such incident in two weeks coming amid continued rioting in
Jerusalem's holiest places.
A Palestinian member of the militant group Hamas rammed a truck into a
crowded light rail station, backed out and then continued to drive, hitting
several cars and injuring passengers and pedestrians on the street.
He got out of the car and attacked a group of civilians and police officers on
the side of the road with a metal bar before he was shot and killed.
A Hamas statement claimed responsibility and praised the "glorious operation"
of the attacker, named as Ibrahim al-Akri, 38, from the Shuafat refugee camp
in east Jerusalem.
He had "retaliated for the blood of his people and the sacredness of the AlAqsa Mosque and Jerusalem," a statement said.
The head of the ambulance rescue service, Eli Bir, also said he also ploughed
into people waiting at a bus stop. Apart from the attacker, the one person killed
was a police officer from the Druze minority.
The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, blamed the incident on
"incitement" by the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, and his Hamas
"partners" - a reference to their current attempts to implement a power-sharing
"The attack was the direct consequence of Abu Mazen's [Abbas's] incitement
and that of his Hamas partners," Mr Netanyahu said.
Earlier, heavy rioting near the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam
which occupies what Jews call the Temple Mount, saw a Palestinian man
seriously injured by a rubber bullet and tear gas fired into the mosque by
Israeli border police.
Tensions have been high in the capital since a similar incident two weeks ago
when Abdel Rahman al-Shaludi, also from east Jerusalem, ploughed his car

into commuters killing a three-month-old baby and a 20-year-old woman.
There have been sporadic riots since July, when a Palestinian teenager,
Mohammed Abu Khdeir, was murdered by a Jewish gang in Shuafat, in
retaliation for the killing of three Jewish teenagers abducted on their way back
home to a West Bank settlement.
Last month, the trouble moved to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, which was
closed to all visitors on Thursday for the first time in 14 years.
It was closed again on Wednesday after the renewed rioting.
Last week, a far-right activist and rabbi Yehuda Glick was shot at close range
outside a conference where he had spoken about allowing an increased
Jewish presence on the grounds of the mosque.
The key suspect, another Palestinian resident of east Jerusalem, Muataz
Hijazi, 33, was shot and killed the next day by Israeli police.
Mr Abbas sparked Mr Netanyahu's rage by sending Hijazi's family a letter of
On Monday Israel's Interior Ministry pressed ahead regardless with its east
Jerusalem settlements programme, signing off on another 500 new homes
near Shuafat.
Jordan recalled its ambassador for consultations in protest at the violence and
Israeli actions to close the mosque.
Israeli police said al-Akri had been recently released from prison after he
served time for "security offences". His brother was said to be among the more
than 1,000 Palestinians released in the 2011 prisoner exchange deal for the
captured young Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
Menachem Klein, professor of political science at Bar Ilan University, said
Jerusalem was facing a renewed intifada, or uprising, after previous uprisings
in the 1980s and again from 2000-2005.
"Those who say this is not an intifada have in mind intifada one and two as
models, but I refuse to assume that the third intifada should exactly follow the
first and the second. It can be different - it's a popular rejection of the Israeli
authority," he said.
"It's a local intifada, yes, and Israel is trying to contain it.
"Israel uses different measures in order to stop the intifada in Jerusalem - by

using law and settlement expansion."
This week Israel began pushing through legislation that could see those who
throw stones jailed for up to 20 years without the state needing to prove they
intended to cause harm.
Since July there have been daily attacks on the light rail which connects the
east with west of the city. It was originally built as a bridge between
Palestinians and Jews, but today is a symbol of the city's ethnic divide.

Netanyahu and Jordan king call for calm amid

After Hashemite Kingdom threatens to rethink ties with Israel, Netanyahu
assures Abdullah II that Jews won't be allowed to pray at Temple Mount
Israel has no plans to change the status quo at Jerusalem's Temple Mount
compound by allowing Jewish prayer there, Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu told Jordan's King Abdullah II Thursday.
"Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterated Israel's commitment to preserve the
status quo on the Temple Mount as well as Jordan's special status at the site,"
a statement from the premier's office said.
Both leaders "called for an immediate end to the violence and incitement," the
statement maintained.
Ahead of a meeting with Indian Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh on
Wednesday, Netanyahu said that he had spoken with the Jordanian leader
"and we agreed that we'll do every effort to calm the situation."
"We have to make every effort to restore calm, quiet and security. But I think
we have to make that effort throughout the world," he added.
The statement came as Israeli forces clashed with Palestinian protesters
outside the Ofer military prison near Ramallah. The demonstration was called
by Birzeit univeristy students to protest Israeli actions on the Temple Mount,
according to AFP.

Under the current status quo at the compound, which is sacred to both Islam
and Judaism, Jews are permitted to visit but not to pray there for fear it would
cause friction at one of the most sensitive holy sites in the Middle East.
On Wednesday, Jordan told the UN Security Council that it was ready to take
measures to stop Israeli actions on the Temple Mount in East Jerusalem after
Israeli police clashes with Palestinians there on Wednesday morning.
"Jordan considers such serious and outrageous actions by Israel an
unprecedented escalation," said Ambassador Dina Kawar in a letter to the
president of the Security Council.
Noting that Jordan had recalled its ambassador from Israel, the UN envoy
added that "this is without prejudice to any further lawful steps and measures
that Jordan will be taking to stop Israeli attacks against the Haram Al-Sharif" the Temple Mount compound.
Earlier Wednesday, Jordan warned it will reevaluate its diplomatic ties with
Israel, including its 20-year peace accord, in light of what it termed Israeli
"violations" on the Temple Mount.
Government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani told Al-Jazeera that "all legal
and diplomatic options are open in order to respond to the Israeli violations of
the al-Aqsa mosque."
The Hashemite Kingdom recalled its ambassador from Tel Aviv and moved to
file a UN complaint after police clashed with stone-throwing Palestinians at the
holy site Wednesday morning.
Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said Israel's recent actions at the compound
were "way beyond the limits."
"These violations are infuriating the emotions and the sensitivity of 1.5 billion
Muslims around the world," he said Wednesday.
"Calm has to be restored. Israel has to respect the sanctity of the holy sites."
The recall reportedly came after reports surfaced that Israeli police had
entered the al-Aqsa Mosque on the compound and clashed with protesters
inside the building.
The Waqf overseeing the Temple Mount claimed that Israeli police went deep
into the mosque during its crackdown, all the way to the preacher's pulpit - the
furthest Israeli security forces have ventured since the 1967 Six Day War,
Channel 2 reported. Israel said that its forces only went a few meters inside,
where they saw a stash of stones, bottles, and Molotov cocktails that the

demonstrators had prepared.
The Waqf is the Jordanian organization that administers the Temple Mount
compound, which is the holiest location for Jews and contains Islam's third
holiest site, the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Jordan has responsibility for managing the mosque compound and other holy
sites in the eastern part of the city. Its status as custodian is enshrined in its
1994 peace treaty with Israel.

Our Goal is to raise $20,000
as of 11/6/14 we have raised $18,604
We have nearly 30,000 people who read the Prophecy Update Newsletter
daily. So far, 68 wonderful Saints have donated to this project. If every
reader just gave $25, we would have more than enough to fund this
project, please pray and consider supporting this project, thanks!

You can be a part of the blessing of bringing the Gospels of Matthew and John
to DVD and online in the same quality, and with a sound doctrine and straightforward message, like all our other videos. Millions of people, from all over the
world have watched our prophecy videos on our YouTube channel and on our
website, absolutely free. It's your support, that makes this possible, and now
we want to add even more video content to our sites and win even more souls.
You, the supporter are our Kickstarter, underwriter and crowdfunding source.

The dividends and rewards generated through soul-winning projects like this,
reap eternal rewards!

There is no better way to share the WORD with people than the Gospel
We have produced a lot of DVD's on Bible Prophecy and have done verse by
verse video commentaries on the two main prophetic books of the Bible,
Daniel and Revelation. Now we want to expand even further and do verse by
verse video commentaries on the Gospels, starting with the Gospels of John
and Matthew. I have already written the scripts/commentary for both of them,
and we want to bring them to video as a series and post them online for free to
watch, as we have done all our other videos.
Massive Undertaking
This is a massive undertaking and would be out biggest project to date.
Matthew would take 12 to 14 DVD's and John should take 10 DVD's. These
DVD's would be just like all our others, professionally narrated, high-definition,
and packed full images, video clips, animations and illustrations, as well as
sound doctrine. It will cost nearly $20,000 dollars, that's about $850 dollars for
each video. The cost includes hiring the narrator, purchasing additional video
clips and animations to add our library, we will be able to use many of the
media clips several times. This also would include a new duplicator; our
current duplicator is almost at full capacity. A duplicator is like giant hard drive,
where all the master copies of our video library are stored for duplication to
DVD. If every reader gave just $25 dollars, we would have more than enough
to make this project happen!

To my knowledge, there is nothing else like this on the internet. Sure you can
watch a pastor or bible teacher giving a bible study on a stage with some
PowerPoint illustrations, but our style of video/commentary/documentary is
unique and leaves a lasting visual image and paints a mental picture and
illustration for every Bible verse.
I have been praying about this project and I am asking you to consider
supporting this project and making it happen, I want to get these videos online
as soon as possible, while we still have the time. As I was praying today before
I wrote this letter, the scripture that came to my mind was Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ

I ask that you would prayerfully consider partnering with us to get the Word out
and make the Gospel Online Project a reality. Remember, your gift, no matter
how small, does make a difference! You will be helping to touch lives, around
the world, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, thanks to the internet your
generosity carries a global impact! Please pray about supporting this project, I
have a set up a special fund on our donations page for this project and I will
keep you informed of our progress.

The Economy of the Largest Superpower on the Planet
Is Collapsing Right Now - By Michael Snyder
How do you fix a superpower with exploding levels of debt, that has a rapidly
aging population, that consumes far more wealth than it produces, and that
has scores of zombie banks that could collapse at any moment. You might
think that I am talking about the United States, but I am actually talking about
Europe. You see, the truth is that the European Union has a larger population
than the United States does, it has a larger economy than the United States
does, and it has a much larger banking system than the United States
does. Most of the time I write about the horrible economic problems that the

U.S. is facing, but without a doubt economic conditions in Europe are even
worse at the moment. In fact, there are many (including the Washington Post)
that are calling what is happening in Europe a full-blown "depression". Sadly,
this is probably only just the beginning. In the months to come things in
Europe are likely to get much worse.
First of all, let's take a look at unemployment. If the U.S. was using honest
numbers, the official unemployment rate would probably be somewhere close
to 10 percent. But in many nations in Europe, the official unemployment rate is
already above the ten percent mark...
France: 10.2%
Poland: 11.5%
Italy: 12.6%
Portugal: 13.1%
Spain: 23.6%
Greece: 26.4%
The official unemployment rate for the eurozone as a whole is currently 11.5
percent. The lack of good jobs is causing the middle class to shrink all over
Europe, and more people than ever are becoming dependent on government
assistance. European nations are well known for their generous welfare
programs, but all of this spending is causing debt to GDP ratios to absolutely
Spain: 92.1%
France: 92.2%
Belgium: 101.5%
Portugal: 129.0%
Italy: 132.6%
Greece: 174.9%
At the same time, the value of the euro has been steadily declining over the
last six months. This is significantly reducing the purchasing power that
European families have...

Dollar Euro Exchange Rate
Many believe that the euro will ultimately go much lower than this. Nations
such as Greece and Spain are already experiencing deflation, and the inflation
rates in Germany and France are both currently below one percent. If the
European Central Bank starts injecting lots of fresh euros into the system to
combat this perceived problem, that will lift the level of inflation but it will also
further erode the value of the euro.
In the long run, it would not be a surprise to see the U.S. dollar at parity with
the euro.
When it happens, remember where you heard it.
The Europeans are scared to death of a deflationary depression, but that is
precisely where the long-term economic trends are taking them right now. The
following is from a recent Forbes article...
Market consensus believes that the eurozone is edging toward that moment
when the scourge of deflation actually becomes a crippling reality. Eurozone
data is constantly reminding investors that the region's economy is barely
limping along, as companies slash selling prices in a vain attempt to improve
sales in the face of a weakening economy and evaporating new orders.
Corporate deflationary reactions like this only hurt a company's bottom line by
squeezing profit margins even further. The obvious knock-on effect will limit
resources for hiring and investing, which in turn only dampens any chances of
an economic rebound, again putting the region into a bigger hole.
In a desperate attempt to avoid widespread deflation in Europe, the ECB will
inevitably take action at some point.
It may not happen immediately, but when it does it will be yet another salvo in
the emerging global currency war.
Speaking of currencies, it is being reported that Russia is actually considering
legislation that will ban the circulation of the U.S. dollar in that nation. The
following is from an article that was posted on Infowars...
Russia may ban the circulation of the United States dollar.
The State Duma has already been submitted a relevant bill banning and
terminating the circulation of USD in Russia, APA's Moscow correspondent
If the bill is approved, Russian citizens will have to close their dollar accounts
in Russian banks within a year and exchange their dollars in cash to Russian

ruble or other countries' currencies.
Otherwise their accounts will be frozen and cash dollars levied by police,
customs, tax, border, and migration services confiscated.
That is not good news for the U.S. dollar at all.
Expect wild shifts in the foreign exchange markets in the months and years to
come. Turbulent times are ahead for the dollar, the euro and the yen.
Getting back to Europe, let us hope that things stabilize over there - at least for
a while.
But that might not happen. In fact, things could take a turn for the worse at
any moment.
Most people don't realize this, but European banks are even shakier than U.S.
banks, and that is saying a lot.
For example, the largest bank in the strongest economy in Europe is Deutsche
Bank. At this point, Deutsche Bank has approximately 75 trillion dollars worth
of exposure to derivatives. That amount of money is about 20 times the size of
German GDP, and it is more exposure than any U.S. bank has.
And Deutsche Bank is far from alone. All over Europe there are zombie banks
that are essentially insolvent. Many of them are being propped up by their
governments. Those governments know that if those banks failed that it would
make their economic problems even worse.
Just like in the United States, most economic activity in Europe is fueled by
debt. So those banks are needed to provide mortgages, loans and credit
cards to average citizens and businesses. Unfortunately, bad debt levels and
business failures continue to shoot up all over Europe.
The system is breaking down, and nobody is quite sure what is going to
happen next.
So keep an eye on Europe. In particular, keep an eye on Italy. I have a
feeling that big economic news is about to start coming out of Italy, and it won't
be good.
In 2014, we have been experiencing "the calm before the storm".
But 2015 is right around the corner, and it promises to be extremely

Prophetic Wisdom for Braving the Coming Storm
- R. Loren Sandford -

I have been hesitant to release this publicly since I began sensing it some
months ago, but I feel that at this point I must. Christians must be forewarned
and positioned to be peacemakers, reconcilers and purveyors of hope in the
face of the trouble to come.
I have long known that at some point Barack Obama would face a crisis to his
presidency that would rock the nation. I expected it in the third year of his
administration, but I confess that I've never been good at hearing specific
dates from the Lord. I now expect it beginning in the third and into the fourth
years of his second term. Many issues have already surfaced, as have many
scandals that would have sunk any previous president, but so far none of
these has seemed to coalesce into something worthy of "crisis." Witness the
Fast and Furious debacle, the truth of what actually happened at Benghazi that
is now surfacing via those who were on the ground during the attack, the
scandals surrounding the Secret Service (from soliciting prostitutes to
incompetence that allowed a runner to get all the way into the White House),
as well as the IRS scandal and the resignation of its director, Lois Lerner. It
has been a growing list. I have sensed with some dread that, in these last two
years of the current administration, corruption will be exposed and turmoil will
erupt at such a level and depth that we simply won't know how to deal with it.
It would be a mistake to make the president responsible for all of this, although
he bears a significant portion of the responsibility, as do his predecessors. No
matter what anyone tries to make of it, know that this is not a racial crisis, but
rather a crisis of fundamental integrity, and that it extends to both sides of the
congressional aisle. What is coming is the culmination of decades of erosion in
the moral fiber of the nation, our rejection of God, of godly principles and the
relentless pressure of a culture of self that leads us to vote for whoever
promises to give us the most at the expense of personal responsibility.
Additionally, we increasingly tend to elect those who advocate immorality in
the name of individual rights and freedoms. In the end, God's ways work and
man's ways don't, but mankind has always had a difficult time accepting this as
The enemy of our soul has always been an opportunist who stands ever ready
to fill the vacuum left by godly people who either abandon the biblical standard
or neglect to stand forth and pay the price that raising the prophetic cry against
immorality and corruption exacts. Charismatic and evangelical Christians,

committed to the historic faith, will pay an ever higher price for our stand in the
days to come. How we choose to respond will make the difference between
being permanently marginalized on the one hand or walking in victory on the
other (and ultimately enjoying favor with God and man) in the midst of a time of
increasing turmoil.
It's time to play our role as prophetic Daniels to our Nebuchadnezzar's and as
Josephs to our Pharaohs. As they did, we can become assets to a lost world,
demonstrating the love and power that flow from our Savior and our Father
God without compromising our integrity or entering into idolatry. It's time to
position ourselves to receive and minister to a growing stream of the hurting
and the broken without judgment, condemnation or bitterness. More than ever,
it will be love and grace that win the lost, not cries of judgment and destruction.
It's time for us to shine.

Daily Jot: The Emperor's delusional rant, or not - Bill
Wilson -
The occupant of the Oval Office held his post-election news conference
Wednesday afternoon. He rattled off a list of items that he thinks his
presidency has improved for the American people such as higher income,
more jobs, and lower deficits. He is delusional to think that we are better off
because of him. More people are receiving government benefits than are
working; the per capita income of $28,184 has declined 6% since he took
office; 38% of the workforce has given up on getting a job; and the US is
carrying record debt of nearly $18 trillion. He is delusional on a lot of things,
even promising executive orders when Congress won't accept his agenda. But
there may be something for which is not so delusional.
He said, "I'm hoping that the kind of attitude and approach that Mitch
McConnell and John Boehner have already expressed, their desire to get
things done, allows us to find some common ground....And my commitment to
them -- and I've said this when I spoke to them -- is, is that anywhere where
we can find common ground, I'm eager to pursue interactions with
Mitch McConnell, he has always been very straightforward with me. To his
credit, he has never made a promise that he couldn't deliver...he has always
given me, I think, realistic assessments of what he can get through his caucus
and what he can't. And so I think we can have a productive relationship."
These are most disturbing words. The voters tossed out Democrats because
Americans were done with the Islamic-Marxist policies of this "president."
Voters overwhelmingly want socialist health care repealed; marriage restored;
government spending restrained and government spying/bullying stopped.

Getting along with and finding common ground with the "president" is not why
the Republicans were given the majority. While the "president" may be
delusional on what he believes he has accomplished to improve the "middle
class," he doesn't seem too delusional on his assessment of McConnell and
Boehner. They have six years of compromising, hardly opposing him.
Republicans should remove McConnell and Boehner from their leadership
positions and begin the next Congress with leadership that reflects the will of
the people. I, for one, did not cast my vote to elect leaders to find common
ground with what I believe to be evil. 2 Corinthians 6:14,15 says, "Be ye not
unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with
darkness? And what harmony has Christ with Belial? or what part has he that
believes with an infidel?" Granted, it is likely that not all who were elected are
disciples of Christ, but we know by his fruits the "president's" discipleship. We
must demand and expect accountability.

Daily Devotion: Needing a Recharge - Greg Laurie
O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my
whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no
water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and glory. Your
unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! -Psalm 63:1-3
When I travel, I take my laptop with me to work on my messages. But often I
must work off the battery, so whenever I have the opportunity, I will plug in to
the nearest electrical outlet. Why? Because my battery runs down and needs a
Sometimes that's the way it is for us as believers. We come to church and get
plugged in spiritually. Then we try to run off that energy all week long. We don't
realize we need the power of Christ at all times, in every situation, every
conversation, every circumstance in which we find ourselves. In other words,
we need a constant power source. We need to be plugged in all the time.
In Psalm 63, David was praying, "Lord, I want to walk with you all the time.
Yes, I have seen your glory in the sanctuary, but I want that all week long."
I can't help but think of the prophet Elijah, who became physically, emotionally,
and spiritually depleted in his warfare with the enemies of God. An angel of the
Lord found him curled up under a bush in the desert, wanting to die. The angel

provided him with some bread, let him rest, and then woke him up for another
heavenly meal. The angel said, "Arise and eat, because the journey is too
great for you" (1 Kings 19:7). We, too, become run down and spiritually
depleted. And God has a wonderful meal waiting for us every day in the Word
of God, served by the Holy Spirit Himself.
Elijah needed to plug in again, and so do we. We need to make time for God
and His Word in our day. Sometimes that means just grabbing it where we
can. Read some Scripture verses when you get up in the morning. Listen to
some worship or a Bible study on your way to work or school. Take the
moments where you can find them to plug in and stay tapped into all that God
has for you.

Featured Article: Faith - Nathele Graham

"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that
perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour
and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in
whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy
unspeakable and full of glory: receiving the end of your faith, even the
salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1:7-9. Sometimes Christians think that once
we accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour our life will be smooth. That just isn't
the way it is. Peter talks of the "trial of your faith" and that is something we face
every day, even if it is just being mocked by friends and family. None of us
enjoy being "tried with fire" but trials help us to grow in faith. If we glorify God in
our trials we have a strong witness to people around us.
Sometimes God asks us to step out in faith and only by saying yes to His
direction can we help Him to accomplish great things. Faith is believing
something and trusting in it. Faith in God is the conviction that God exists and
trusting Him. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen." Hebrews 11:1. Throughout history God has asked people to
step out in faith and trust Him; Hebrews chapter 11 tells us of some of those
people. They were just ordinary people, but they heard God speak and acted
in faith. Because they bravely followed God's direction mankind was preserved
through the Flood, the Jewish nation was founded, and many other miraculous
things happened because of faith.
"By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which
he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it
he being dead yet speaketh." Hebrews 11:4. Adam and Eve disobeyed God
and were evicted from Eden. They had tried to hide their shame by covering
themselves with fig leaves, but God shed the blood of an animal and covered
their shame with its skin. As Cain and Abel grew up they most likely heard their
parents recount the splendor of life in the Garden of Eden prior to the Fall and
how important it was to obey God instead of doing things their own way. By
faith they should have believed the account and understood the importance of
living life in obedience to God. When the brothers brought offerings to God,
only Abel had shed the blood of an animal. Cain had tried to do things his own
way and when his offering was rejected he became angry, ultimately killing
Abel. We face the same challenge today. By faith we accept God's word and
know His ways, but we don't always do things God's way. His way is what
counts even if we don't understand. "For we walk by faith, not by sight:" 2
Corinthians 5:7. By faith Abel made the more excellent sacrifice to God and so
must we walk by faith, take up our cross, and follow Jesus.
"By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not
found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this
testimony, that he pleased God." Hebrews 11:5. Sin abounded in Enoch's time.
The fallen angels had corrupted all of God's creation and all out rebellion
would soon bring God's judgment upon all life. Enoch walked with God and

kept apart from the sin that was everywhere. His faith was in God. Prior to
God's judgment he was taken by God. "And Enoch walked with God: and he
was not; for God took him." Genesis 5:24. Christians today live in a world
where sin abounds. Like Enoch we need to walk with God, have faith in Him,
and be separate from the ways of the world. The signs of the times are all
around us and God's wrath will soon be poured out upon the unbelieving
world. Like Enoch we will be Raptured and taken away from God's wrath. "Now
the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from
the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;" 1 Timothy
4:1. Don't be deceived by doctrines of devils, but walk in faith with God. Don't
take pleasure in the fallen world, but keep your faith in Jesus and walk in His
"By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with
fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned
the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith." Hebrews
11:7. Like his great-grandfather Enoch, Noah lived in a time when sin was a
way of life. God's truth was rejected and mocked. Jesus used Noah's day as
an example of what it would be like just before the end. Using that as a
warning signal we can only wonder how many more days until Christians are
removed and God's wrath will begin. The fallen angels had corrupted all living
things and contrary to what some people think, this corruption was more than
just being bad. These rebellious angels had contaminated all life...human,
beast, and bird. In order to preserve God's creation and allow for redemption
through Jesus Christ, there had to be no genetic corruption and Noah was not
genetically contaminated. By faith Noah built an Ark because God told him to.
Because of his faith in God and his willingness to obey, a pure human line was
preserved and Jesus' sacrifice on the cross was able to atone for our sin.
Today scientists are once again corrupting creation by mixing the genes of
human, animal, and plants. We live in times similar to the days of Noah which
Jesus said would come before the end. "For whatsoever is born of God
overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even
our faith." 1 John 5:4. Keep your faith in Jesus. Don't follow the ways of the
world, but walk in faith with God and be victorious.

"By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should
after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither
he went." Hebrews 11:8. Abraham was born and raised in a pagan culture.
One day he heard the true God tell him to leave his home and family to travel
to a land that God would show him. Abraham was called by God to become
the father of many nations, yet he had no children. Even when he didn't see a
quick fulfillment of God's promise he still had faith. His faith slipped a bit and
he tried to help God along. In so doing he fathered a son by a servant, but
Ishmael was not the son God promised. Years would pass before Abraham
and Sarah miraculously had a son together. It was through Isaac that God's

promise was fulfilled. Through him came King David and ultimately Jesus our
Redeemer. Abraham would be asked to step out in faith on many occasions
and he responded in obedience. "That the blessing of Abraham might come on
the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the
Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:14. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph all
had tests of their faith in God. Sometimes they failed but their faith and
obedience preserved the lineage that God ordained to bring salvation to this
lost world through Jesus Christ.
"By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents,
because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's
commandment." Hebrews 11:23. The Hebrews had lived in Egypt and were
becoming strong. Pharaoh was worried that they would become the rulers of
Egypt so he decreed that all male Hebrew babies were to be killed at birth.
Moses was hidden and soon was found by Pharaoh's daughter who took and
raised him. "By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called
the son of Pharaoh's daughter; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the
people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;" Hebrews
11:24-25. Eventually Moses had to flee from Egypt. Years passed and finally
the Hebrews cried out to God for help. God chose Moses to free them. Moses
heard God speak from the burning bush and after some argument did confront
Pharaoh. It was faith that caused Moses to follow God's instructions and speak
to Pharaoh. By faith he eventually would sacrifice the lambs and sprinkle their
blood on the door posts thus protecting the Hebrews from death. By faith he
led them through the Red Sea, delivered God's Law to them, and won many
battles. "And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace,
be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto
them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?" Mark 4:39-40.
God parted the Red Sea to allow the Hebrews to pass through to safety and
He rebuked the wind so His disciples could safely weather the storm. Do you
have faith in Him to calm the storms you face in this life?
"By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about
seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not,
when she had received the spies with peace." Hebrews 11:30-31. Have you
ever heard of a more ridiculous battle plan? Walk around a city every day for
six days. On the seventh day walk around it seven times, blow trumpets, then
everyone shout! It took faith to trust God's direction. The Israelites did and the
walls of Jericho fell. What was accomplished? No land was won or fortune
taken. Rahab was the reason. She was a harlot in Jericho who had heard of
the parting of the Red Sea and of the victories the Israelites had won in battles.
When two Hebrew spies came into the city she protected them because she
knew the Lord had been leading the Hebrews. She had faith in Him. She
wanted to leave her old life and join with the Hebrews and so she did. Because
of her faith she turned from her life as a pagan harlot and married a Hebrew.
She is one of the few women mentioned in the genealogy of King David, and

thus of Jesus. "Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, if ye
have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree,
but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast
into the sea, it shall be done." Matthew 21:21. Faith can move mountains,
cause walls to fall down, and place you in the family of God.
"That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of
God." 1 Corinthians 2:5. The examples of faith in Hebrews chapter 11 are just
a few of the examples throughout the Bible. Both the Old and New Testaments
confirm that faith in the power of God can do great things. Christians know that
we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, but we can't keep that faith hidden.
"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say,
Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I
will shew thee my faith by my works." James 2:17-18. Faith says "I believe in
God" but acting on faith allows His power to be manifest.
By faith Christians know that Christ, God incarnate, was born of a virgin,
healed the sick, raised the dead, and walked on water. His disciples were
asked to step out in faith and spread the Gospel. They moved out of their
"comfort zone" and bore witness of God's power. Because of their obedience
the Gospel spread. By faith we know that Jesus is the only way of Salvation.
What is God asking you to do? Like Abraham are you being asked to leave the
pagan life you are living and move toward the promise that God has waiting for
you? Moses had many excuses as to why he couldn't do what God asked, but
God gave him what he needed to talk to Pharaoh and lead a nation out of
slavery. You may not be asked to build an Ark, but God may ask you to talk to
a neighbor about your faith. God will see you through whatever He asks you to
do. Just place your faith in Him.
God bless you all,
