Interrupting Judith when

helping a student
Judith was absent on the
day of the behaviour log.

Working quietly

Sam arrived with Sophie. He put his bag down at a

computer, sat down and moved his chair next to
Sophie. He looks very disoriented. When asked why
he was late he shrugged.
Sam is sitting next to the boys (mainly Daniel) at the
back where there is no free computer talking about
Australian logos.
Sam is using the computer chair to scoot around to
talk to Sophie and the group of males at the back. He
is supposed to be on a separate computer, but is yet
to log on. When the teacher questions what he is
doing he states that he is getting ideas from other
people, however the topic of conversation amongst
them does not back this up.
Sophie left to seek assistance as she could not log on.
Coincidentally Sam left at the same time to get a
drink.
Arrived back with Sophie. During the time Sam was
gone, the class was quiet and doing work.
Sitting on his phone at the back/end of the table and
talking with the boys. Has not logged onto a
computer yet.
Playing a game on his phone, asking his friends to
help him.
Talking about social life loudly.
When asked what he was up to, he said he is trying
to figure out how to make his cubby house flat pack
by reading off of his friends plan. He said he was
logged onto a computer, but when asked which one

he pointed to a computer which wasnt logged on

and said Oh, it must not have worked. And
proceeded to sit next to his friends at the end of the
table and talk about off topic things. When the
teacher said you cannot slack off because Judith is
not here, he simply stated Im not doing anything
different, I always do this.
Sam has used bad language more than once in the
space of 5 minutes. Still has done no work and is
continually disturbing the people around him.
Still sitting at the end of the table, has not logged on
to a computer, has no work in front of him and is
talking about social life. His friends will get on task,
and then he will begin to talk to them which will
encourage them to talk back. When told to be quiet
and stay on task, Sam stated I havent even been
talking for the last 10 minutes!
When asked what he was doing Sam proceeded to
say getting ideas. No work in front of him and
spinning on his chair for about a minute.
Scooted over to Sophie on the computer chair and
started whispering, disturbing her from her work.
Went over to where his bag was, picked it up and
took it back to where his friends are.
Sam started to fill Sophie in on what he did in Math.
He then proceeded to talk about his social life and
various people from around the school.
Still has not been at his own desk all lesson, still
sitting with Sophie and talking to her and the other
boys.

something up
before the end of
the lesson.

Still talking.

Sam was dismissed from lesson early by Frank due to

talking about inappropriate, disturbing, demeaning
things. Frank would not repeat what he said, but
stated to me that if anyone had any questions they
could go see him.
Despite being told to leave by Frank, Sam stuck
around until the end of the lesson. He stood at the
end of the table (where his friends are) with his bag
on and kept saying hurry up and pack up so we can
go. He quickly opened the door and as he walked
out he used inappropriate language.
