The Arts Faculty at McGill provides


students with an opportunity to
explore the rich diversity of human
endeavour and creative expression.
The first year students entering U0
are required to finish the Freshman
Program, which allows students to
explore the various courses and
build a solid foundation for the
degree program.
Bachelor of Arts (B.A) program is
composed of 120 credits.

Students claim their major
concentration on the second year
(U1). Students can design their
degree with various combinations of
major and minor concentrations, or
with honours program.

minor (18 credits)
major concentration is replaceable with

02 Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science at McGill University bridges areas from cognitive
science investigating how the brain works, to the galactic cosmology of
multidimensional brane worlds, and all points in between.

McGills Science Faculty is largely divided into two streams: Life (Biological,
Biomedical) Science and Physical (Earth, Math & Computer) Science (and
new third stream, Liberal Science). These streams require different
prerequisites at admission.
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) is composed of 120 credits.

03 Environmental Sciences

Located on McGill University's MacDonald Campus, the Faculty of Agricultural


and Environmental Sciences emphasizes the thrill of scientific investigation
through hands-on work, and it's a place where you'll gain the expertise you
need to help feed the planet and protect the environment.

The Ingram School of Nursing has been a pioneer in nursing education,
research and practice. It is recognized internationally for the

contributions made to the development of the nursing profession and

05 Bachelor of Arts & Science


The BA & Sc degree, jointly offered through the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of
Science, is designed for students who have clearly-defined interests in both Arts
and Science. While the degree provides a broad education that includes in-depth
study of disciplines in both faculties.
We provide three types of programs (120 credits)

The Multi-Track programs combine a Major Concentration in an Arts discipline with a


Major Concentration in a Science discipline.

The Interfaculty programs are interdisciplinary in nature. There are currently 3 such
programs: Environment, Cognitive Science, and Sustainability, Science and Society.

The Joint Honours programs are similar to the multi-track programs except that students
complete two Honours components, one in Arts and one in Science. The only Science
Joint Honours Components are in Mathematics and Psychology, but there are many Arts
Joint Honours Components to choose from.

06 Faculty of Engineering
Our programs qualify you for immediate employment in a wide range of
industries, and our extensive internship and co-op programs offer invaluable
professional experience before you graduate.
Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Bachelor of Software Engineering are
also available from this faculty.
First year students (U0) can enter into the Facultys General Management
program in their first year, or choose and start directly with their major
program (which can start in their second year).

07 Desautels Faculty of Management


The degree offered by the Faculty is Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com),
which is is composed of 120 credits. It is the most flexible in Canada and
the most international in focus. Students complete a broadly-based core of
required courses, and choose from General Management, Majors and
Honours, or Major in International Management.

08 Faculty of Education
The Faculty offers a variety of programs for both the kindergarten-elementary and the
secondary levels, as well as three specialist programs in second language, music and
physical and health education that prepare students to teach at both the elementary and
secondary level. Student teaching field experiences are at the heart of all our teacher
education programs.
The following BEd degree programs lead to teacher certification (150 credits)

09 Schulich School of Music


Renowned as Canada's largest music school,
Schulich School of Music offers world-class
research and production facilities - with 5
recording studios, 2 concert halls, recital halls,
computer and digital composition labs, and a
state-of-the-art music library at your disposal.

The B.Mus. curriculum includes individual lessons, ensemble participation,


and course work in music history, theory and analysis, and musicianship.
Students are also able to complete courses in the Faculties of Arts and
Science.
