With only 34% voter turn-out a

total 1856 votes cast out of an estimated
5426 eligible voters Neil Menard will
be our new mayor, with almost twice the
votes as encumbent mayor Susan Roline
(994 votes to Susans 522). Mike Jolly received 297 votes.
Kurt Christopherson was the favourite
with 1336 votes, followed by Dave Baker
1241, Mike Goetz 1120, Diana Norgaard
1116, Linda Brown 1099, and Ginny
Prowal 824. They will form our new city
council. Bruce McMurchy received 765
votes, and Harry Kroeker received 732.

School trustees

The new municipal trustees are encumbents Tim Kroeker 1212 votes & Gordon Swan 988 votes, and returning to the
board is Brian Jepsen with 834. Everett
Hoisington received 732 votes, and Joyce
Perrie 604. For the rural position on the
school board, Gerald Ellingsen received
89 votes, to David Lairds 76 and
Ko'waintco Michels 61. Gordon
Comeau, David Rainer and Leah Ward
were acclaimed for Princeton & Area H.

New deadline for Christmas hampers

The Food Bank has been accepting applications for the Nicola Valley & District
Christmas Hamper Program, but although many applications have been
picked up, organizers are not seeing the
numbers they had been expecting back
yet. The original deadline was November
14, but they are extending that until November 20. Applications can be picked up
and returned to the Food Bank at 2026
