Dear Bevin,

It is my pleasure to present to you our annual technical festival,

"Shaastra", which will be held in the first week of 2013. Shaastra,
ever since its inception in 2000, has been an integral part of the
technical experience at IIT Madras. It has been growing in size,
substance and stature and has been the trendsetter among college
technical festivals across the country. Shaastra has the distinction of
being the only student managed student technical festival in the
world to be ISO 9001:2008 certified. This year, a wide variety of
events encompassing the entire spectrum of innovation are being
planned, ranging from working with microcontrollers to handling IC
engines, from math modelling to air shows, from coding algorithms to
making robots. To ensure a steep learning curve, numerous
workshops, lectures and video conferences from diverse spheres of
science, technology and finance are organized.
Shaastra Samparks are a series of workshops, events, lectures
and qualifiers that are held at cities across India in an effort to bring
Shaastra closer to everyone. Sampark presents young engineers and
technical enthusiasts, with an opportunity to put their technical skills
and expertise to the best use by trying their hands at the various
exciting events on offer. We are glad to announce
