In my rubric, I changed my scoring from a 3 to a 4 for the first and third learning
objectives. I did this because my portfolio has improved since October 28th. I can conclude that
my portfolio provides multiple examples of ways to engage students in activities/lessons that will
help them practice and understand mathematical concepts. My portfolio provides a detailed
description of ways to engage students in fun activities/lessons. In my portfolio, it addresses
ways to show children how mathematics can be applied to everyday life through word problems.
Lastly, my portfolio includes a math lesson and four relatable follow-up math centers that
provide a variety of hands-on and mind-on experiences. I conducted my math lesson on
November 19th and it went very well! My lesson was shown to be effective because the students
improved with their multiplication solving abilities. For the pre-assessment of my lesson, 50% of

the students in the class solved the multiplication problem correctly. During my lesson, the
percentage of students who answered a word problem correctly increased by 20%. This tells me
that my lesson was effective. During my lesson, the students were really engaged and seemed to
be having fun when creating the word problems! The students also related the word problem to
real life situations. I was happy to see my lesson run smoothly and I was glad that my lesson
worked in favor of my goal this semester. It feels great to accomplish my S.M.A.R.T goal!
