Meditation is an ancient practice that calms the mind and allows the mind to understand
itself. Meditation has been in our world for thousands of years, practiced by various religions
throughout the world and many enlightened people. Meditation allows one to focus on what is
happing right now. Why would one want to change one mind? Normally one would change one’s
mind to clear negative thoughts, to fill one with joy, love, and wisdom. ("Benefits of
Meditation”) Meditation can literally change ones state of mind completely. Meditation is an
ancient practice that leads one towards the path of enlightenment and it brings one closer to Om
, it allows one to become in tuned with the universe’s frequency, and meditation calms the
body and mind.
Why would one want to become enlightened? Well for starters on the way to
enlightenment, one gets a better understanding of the world around. One can understand
problems that stumped them before because meditation lets the mind study itself and patters
within the mind. The path to enlightenment is not an easy path. One must spend years and years
of practice, before one can even come close to the path, but it is a path worth the journey. Om is
a concept, idea, a state of being so it represented by its symbol . One can become closer to Om
by meditating, when one meditates, one must be concentrating on the universal power that is all
them into opening their charkas. There are seven charkas that one must open to be able to
become closer to Om.

Neuman 1
Everything vibrates at a frequency within the universe. For instance the music that one
listens to is tuned to 440 Hz (hertz) this frequency is not in tuned with the universe so it doesn’t
sound as clear and loud as music set to 432 Hz, this is the universe natural frequency. Om is
thought to be one of the first sounds to be made after the big bang. When one meditates and
speaks the mantra Om, one is trying to become on the same universal frequency. When one gets
on this frequency, one may experience great energy coming from there charkas and be able to
have far more access to their pineal gland the other people would.
The best thing meditation can do for one is to calm the mind and the body.
Meditation can do wonders for the body, it can change your state of mind just by the thought. All
one must do to allow this to happen is to sit crisscross, interlock your hands, focus on your
breathing and clear all your thoughts. Once this happens one should feel almost like the energy
of calmness completely envelops the body and mind and one suddenly feels calm. However
meditation can do far more than just calm your mind and with enough practice you can change
your emotions just simply by the thought.
With all this how can one not at least not at least think that meditation can be beneficial
to your health? Since meditation takes time, a quiet place, and practice most people in the world
do not meditate (Metcalf, Franz 244). Meditation has been practiced by people for thousands of
years. Meditation is an ancient practice that leads one towards the path of enlightenment and it
brings one closer to Om , it allows one to become in tuned with the universe’s frequency, and
meditation calms the body and mind.
