The purpose of the assignment is for the
students to gain fluency in the topic.
Hopefully after completing the assignment
the students will be comfortable and have
the confidence to solve exponential
problems on their own.
The aesthetic appeal will draw its
influence from the in class activities such
as the lesson opener video to keep the
students interested and engaged.
By providing the students with more than
one option for completing the
assignment, I take ownership for the work.
Also I will ask students to which methods
were most helpful in their learning.
The most efficient way to learn
mathematical concepts is to practice.
Another key to learning math effectively
and efficiently is to work problems both
backwards and forwards. The assessment
will allow students to do so.
Providing two options for completion
allows the students to decide which
assessment is best for their understanding.
One option provides a set of problems
that covers the different skills one piece at
a time while the other option allows to
view the big picture using the lily pad
bridge as a reference.
