Maysoon was able to find some tadpoles for the over two classroom to look after
together. With the children we talked about what a life cycle is before introducing
the life cycle of a frog. The children were introduced to some bigger words including
metamorphosis which the children greatly enjoyed trying and giggling at. The
children were able to feed the tadpoles and learnt very quickly how the food takes
the oxygen and can be dangerous to give too much. This importance of everything
in moderation was a new concept for some children. The target learning outcome
for all children were to understand a life cycle which was supported by seeing it
occur in nature as well as video clips, games, puzzles and discussions with all
teachers.
