The featured presentation at the January 20 Ewing Township Mayor’s Meeting will be “Sustainable
Ewing, Recent Activities and Plans for 2010”. The Ewing Township Green Team includes Mayor Jack Ball,
Council Member Kathleen Wollert, Business Administrator David Thompson, Recycling Coordinator Tom
Elder, School Superintendant Mike Nitti, School Board President Jonathan Savage, and Environmental
Commission Chair Peter Boughton. The remaining five Green Team positions are filled by residents and
members having their primary business in Ewing.

During 2009, several members of the Ewing Environmental Commission initiated the project to join
many other New Jersey municipalities to become certified according to the provisions of “Sustainable
Jersey”. Ewing was formally registered in this program, and the Green Team was established as an
advisory committee to the Mayor.

There are many sustainability issues associated with the program. These include energy audits for the
municipal buildings, solar energy projects, wind energy projects, water conservation ordinance, anti-
idling ordinance, township and school system recycling, green job development, and carbon footprint
reduction. For a complete list of sustainability activities please visit

On behalf of Mayor Ball and the Green Team, all Ewing residents are invited to attend this meeting, and
to learn more about how the administration, council and school district are planning to improve the
township quality of life, and to save taxpayer dollars over the long term.
