I am pursuing a career in Humanitarian Logistics, specifically in Operations & Project
Management in Logistics, or Projects Coordinator.

communication skills and up-to-date terminology; required for functioning in a
logistics working environment.
TLB5300 Managing in the Transport & Logistics Environment The course will
introduce the concepts of management with a logistics and transport commercial
environment from the perspective of a junior manager entering the industry.
TLB6301 Inventory Management This course aims to introduce a logistics approach
to inventory management, and outline objectives and performance measures pertaining
to customer service, inventory investment, and operational efficiency.

TLB6000 Transport & Logistics Economics And Finance identify and describe
the characteristics of transport supply and demand and explain the impact of
externalities such as culture, societal preferences and politics

TLB6201 International Air Cargo This course aims to evaluate the conduct of
international air cargo using NETS analysis, both historically and currently with reference
to Bahrain and the Gulf region, and to introduce students to the practice of international
air cargo transport operations

TLB6202 Maritime Shipping Systems and Practices analyses the nature of


todays shipping market; the primary economic factors affecting shipping
markets.
TLB6300 Passenger Transport This course establishes the essential knowledge and
skills required to analyze and develop public transport networks.
TLB6303 Urban Public Transport This course aims to introduce students to the role
of urban public transport and how it is owned, governed and financed.

TLB7002 Transport & Energy Demonstrate a broad and integrated knowledge


of fuel types and their sources in relation to sustainability and security of supply
TLB7003 Transport & Communications This course aims to examine the theory and
practice of contemporary transport communications in both the global and local
contexts.

TLB7501 - Industry Based Project This was my senior year project which
accounts for 60 credits, and was the highlight of my entire experience in the BILM
program. I was assigned a task to explore and evaluate the education and job
opportunities in the Maritime industry in Bahrain and the GCC.

Work Experience
Trainee in Purchasing at Gulf Hotel (June-August 2013) I was also rotated in all other
departments involved in the supply chain process of the Hotel

Purchasing department:
-

Observed the full process of purchasing in an organization, from the Purchase


Request (order request) to the points of placing a purchase order, as well as
receiving it.
Fully aware of the IT systems used for purchasing within the organization, as well
as the paperwork required for the process of purchasing (ex: Quotation, Invoice,
Purchase Request, Purchase order).
Performed daily supplier calls, in order to place daily orders according to the
request of the different departments of the hotel.

Observed a first meeting with a potential (future) supplier, and became aware of
the whole negotiation process.
Assisted in receiving and collecting orders for different departments and outlets in
the organization.

Food & beverage store, and Stock Warehouse:

Observed how inventory is managed, stocked, and dispatched in the store.


Monitored the availability of products; based on the demands of the different
restaurants and outlets of the hotel.

Financial control dept.:

Learned the role of financial control, and the Importance of information and data
collection to the fiscal stability of the whole organization.
Witnessed the procedures and process taken to determine product and service
pricing, whilst ensuring profit.

Participated in community work, such as volunteering at charity events, as well as
