What I have learned in class
I learned a lot of valuable information regarding job interviews and how to prepare for it by making a good
CV and a cover letter, also, I learned the meaning of interview which is a formal meeting between the
person who applied for a job and the interviewer who present the company. The interviewer ask the
candidate questions regarding his/her experience and education as well as some questions about the
company and the offered job (interview , n.d.). Furthermore, there are seven types of interviews which are,
structural interview, open ended interviews, panel interviews, group interviews, stress interviews, video
interviews and situational interviews.

I also learned how to dress properly and to wear a simple make up for a job interview because it leaves the
first impression on the employer. Plus, how to write a professional CV and cover letter. The CV in
considered as a marketing documents about myself. The CV must include a personal information such as
name, age, and contact details. Plus, qualifications and skills and work experience and a clear objectives. In
addition, it should be clear and easy to read. Furthermore, the cover letter is also an important document
which provides information about where I saw the advertisement or if someone told me about the job and
why Im interested to apply for this position and the skills I have that will helps me in the job and about my
previous experience. Also, the body language and eye contact is important that shows the confident of the
candidate. In addition, the interview example questions that the tutor asked in class helps me a lot to
identify the questions that will be asked in the interview.

What I have learned from the interview

The interview I did was very useful as I learned how to prepare for it by doing a brief research about Bapco
and they services and about the interview questions in order to be confident and to answer the questions
in a professional way. Furthermore, I learned to be honest even if they asked me about negative things
about me such as my weaknesses as well as I have overcome my fear of presenting in front of group of
strangers the reason of that was that most of our assignment at polytechnic needs a presentation so Ive
used to it. In addition, I should always make sure to give the interviewee what they want and not be panic
if the interviewee asks a lot of questions because they want to know if I am suitable for the job or not.
Moreover, the interviewee was very interested about my CV and my work experience as well as my
qualifications so I felt very confident

My opinion
I think the interview was very useful and it helps me to be ready for interview in the real life after
graduation, and this interview remind me about my main important point that I have to consider or focus
in any interview such as the responsibilities of my previous jobs.

Life events related to the interview

I had many interviews in many places such as Ebrahim K. Kanoo B.S.C, Ethmar Bank, Kuwait financing
house, National Motor Company, Ministry of Works, Ministry of Interior (Customs in Khalifa Bin Salman
Port) as well as BBK. Each interview was different. For example, in BBK I had to do a two hours exam about

English and math and in National Motor Company I did a short exam about my computer skills and how act
in case of some situation happened with customer regarding the delay of receiving their cars, I did very
good in the exam in National Motor Company and the manager was very impressed about my performance
in the exam and how I can solve problem with customer and satisfy them but I didnt get the job because of
my time table in the Polytechnic as they want me to work for a full time job. In addition, the job interview
that I had in the Ministry of Interior was completely different than other interviews where I had the
interview with many candidates and the manager asks each one a general questions about the capital of
several countries and some questions about Bahrain and about our religion , the job position was a police
in the port and it require to do a course from 5am until 6pm for three months and I recognized that I
should quit from Polytechnic so I prefer to finish my studies instead. Those interviews was different that
the one I did in class in several areas such as, the questions that were asked by the interviewee was very
professional and how my logistics major is linked to the position and how I can benefit from my experience
and employability skills in the job.

Movie I saw before that related to the interview

Pursuit of happiness movie by Will Smith is about candidate which is Will Smith that he have to pay for
numerous parking tickets but because he was broke he refuse to pay so as a result the police arrested him
and he spend the night in jail. Unfortunately he had a job interview in the second day and that job was
really important to him, so after he was discharged from jail he run to the interview and he was still
wearing his shabby cloths so he didnt impressed the interviewers but because he answer the questions
professionally he got the job (the pursuit of happyness, 2006). I learned from this movie that being
confident is the important factor in every interview, because it shows the interviewer the ability that you
can do this job even if I was not wearing a formal dress.
