Declaration of Independence Deconstruction
The Declaration of Independence was written to declare independence from
the British Empire over the Americas.
Jefferson states that all men have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness.
Jefferson believes that the purpose of government is to secure the rights of
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Jefferson states in the Declaration of Independence that people can change
government when it does not obey the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness.
The three different abuses colonist claim to have suffered were the king had
taken the colonists right of liberty, pursuit of happiness and life.
The colonists have tried to address the their complaints by petitioning for
redress in the most humble terms.
That theses United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and
Independent States (Hart 472).
The colonist claim to now posses the power to levy war, conclude peace,
contract alliances and establish commerce.
