Manual vacuum producing system having pressure indicator

ABSTRACT
A vacuum system comprising a vacuum pump and a vacuum indicator. The vacuum pump comprises a
cylinder, a piston disposed in the cylinder, a piston rod fixed to the piston and extending through an end of
the cylinder, the rod being movable reciprocally, a sealing ring disposed on and around the piston and in
engagement with an inside wall of the cylinder, and stops extending radially outwardly from the piston, the
stops including a proximal stop and a distal stop, the sealing ring being axially movable between the
proximal and distal stops, the piston having an axially-extending groove therein, the groove extending
from proximal of the distal stop to proximal of the proximal stop, whereby upon movement of the piston in
a first direction, the sealing ring engages the distal stop and seals an annular space between the piston
and the inside wall of the cylinder, and upon movement of the piston in a second direction, the sealing
ring engages the proximal stop and leaves unobstructed the axially-extending groove. The vacuum
indicator comprises an elongated tubular member for disposal in a vacuum line between the vacuum
pump and a housing which is to be evacuated, the tubular member being made of an elastic material, with
a wall of the tubular member having a uniform thickness of greater than 1/5 of an inside radius of the
tubular member.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

These and other objects of the present invention are achieved by the provision and use of a novel
vacuum system which comprises a novel vacuum pump and a novel vacuum indicator.
The novel vacuum pump comprises a cylinder; a piston disposed in the cylinder; a piston rod fixed at a
first end to the piston and extending through an end of the cylinder, the rod being movable axially and
reciprocally to move the piston in the cylinder axially and reciprocally in first and second opposite
directions; a sealing ring disposed on and around the piston and in engagement with an inside wall of the
cylinder throughout a periphery of the sealing ring; and stop means extending radially outwardly from the
piston, the stop means including proximal stop means proximate a proximal surface of the piston and
distal stop means proximate a distal surface of the piston, the sealing ring being axially movable between
the proximal and distal stop means; the piston having an axially-extending groove therein, the axiallyextending groove extending from proximal of the distal stop means to proximal of the proximal stop
means; whereby upon movement of the piston in the first direction, the sealing ring engages the distal
stop means and seals an annular space between the piston and the inside wall of the cylinder, and upon
movement of the piston in the second direction, the sealing ring engages the proximal stop means and
leaves unobstructed the axially-extending groove, such that fluid in the cylinder is prevented from flowing
between the piston and the cylinder inside wall when the piston moves in the first direction, and is

permitted to flow between the piston and the cylinder inside wall when the piston moves in the second
direction.
The novel vacuum indicator comprises an elongated tubular member for disposal in a vacuum line
between the vacuum pump and a housing which is to be evacuated, the tubular member being made out
of an elastic material, and with a wall of the tubular member having a uniform thickness of greater than
1/5 of an inside radius of the tubular member.
The present invention also includes the use of the novel vacuum pump and novel vacuum indicator to
create a vacuum in a container or vessel.

Adjustable foot for luggage case with wheels

ABSTRACT
The invention is directed to an article of upright rolling luggage including a luggage case having a bottom
wall, a top wall opposed from the bottom wall, and a rear wall extending between a rear edge of the
bottom wall and a rear edge of the top wall. The invention also includes one or more wheels rotatably
mounted to a portion of the luggage case substantially at the rear edge of the bottom wall. One or more
bases extend from the bottom wall and having at least one portion spaced apart from the wheel. One or
more feet are movably mounted to the base where the foot is movable from a first position substantially
adjacent to the bottom wall to a second position extending away from the bottom wall

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to luggage, and more particularly, movable structures for stabilizing luggage
with wheels.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Luggage cases have been combined with wheels at the bottom of the case to allow for easy
transportation. Without the wheels, users had to carry their luggage in their hand or on their back;
however, combining wheels with a luggage case allows a user to simply roll the luggage from place to
place. The combined luggage and wheel design greatly eased the burden of carrying luggage, particularly
for people with less strength and/or a physical limitation.

SUMMARY
The present invention is directed to an article of upright rolling luggage including a luggage case having a
bottom wall, a top wall opposed from the bottom wall, and a rear wall extending between a rear edge of
the bottom wall and a rear edge of the top wall. The article of upright rolling luggage also includes one or
more wheels rotatably mounted to a portion of the luggage case substantially at the rear edge of the
bottom wall. Further included is one or more base members extending from the bottom wall and having

one or more portions spaced apart from the wheel. One or more feet can be movably mounted to the
base such that the feet are movable from a first position substantially adjacent to the bottom wall to a
second position extending away from the bottom wall. The upright rolling luggage can also include an
extensible luggage handle mounted adjacent to the rear wall of the luggage case.

Stick, in particular telescopic stick for attaching a work devic

ABSTRACT
The stick i.e. telescopic stick (1) has a stick element (40) comprising a rigid section (41) and an elastic or
hinged section (42). Another stick element (20) and the rigid section are connected with each other in a
movable manner using the elastic or hinged section, where diameter of the rigid section corresponds to
diameter of the hinged section. The stick elements have a coupling device (30) at an end for coupling with
a work device e.g. mop or a wiping plate. The stick elements are designed as a cylindrical shaped hollow
body.
Technical Field

[0001]
The invention relates to a handle, in particular a handle for a floor cleaning device, comprising a
first, rigid shaft member (20) and a second handle element (40) and in particular formed as a
telescopic arm.
State of the art

[0002]
Telescopic handles, which are composed of several rigid stem elements, are known from the prior
art. In addition, use of a telescopic handles for cleaning floor surfaces, for example, is
known. Such Telescopic handles offer the advantage that by pulling out of a single stalk elements,
the length of the telescopic handle is adjustable by the user. This offers the advantage that the
user can adjust the length of the telescopic handle so that this does not have to bend down
during cleaning of floors, for example. The use of only rigid stem elements has the disadvantage
that the telescopic handle or with the attached to the telescopic handle cleaning device specific
locations, such as the ground surface can be very difficult to achieve under a bed, and require the
user to bend down anyway.

[0003]
Of DE 201 09 365 is a telescopic handle with three stem elements known, with two stem
elements and a rigid shaft member are flexible and elastic. The elastic element is arranged on a
handle of a hand grip distal end of the telescopic handle and is coupled via a coupling device to

the purification device. The individual stem elements have different diameter and can be moved
to each other. In a retracted position of the handle elements, they each protrude out to a part of
each stem element, in which they are arranged.
Summary of the Invention

[0004]
A telescopic handle described above has the disadvantage that due to the use of three elements
of the handle assembly of the telescopic handle is relatively complex. In addition, the handling is
difficult.
Technical Problem

[0005]
It is the object of the present invention to provide a telescopic handle that has a simple
construction and at the same time easier to handle.
Technical Solution

[0006]
This object is achieved by the features of patent claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the
invention are characterized in the subclaims.
