CE298 homework assignment submissions

Submitted homework (see attached example) should be done on engineering paper, and include the
following:
1. Name of student (Surname first, followed by given name)
2. The homework number and due date
3. The page number and the total number of pages
4. For each problem (even if the problem is not done),
(a) the problem number (from the textbook)
(b) the label Given: followed by the relevant input data with variables and appropriate
units
(c) the label Find: followed by what is asked for (variables)
(d) whenever appropriate, clearly labelled diagrams
(e) the label Solution: followed in sequence (downward) by the steps of the solution
- document your work clearly, relating input data to steps in your solution with the
relevant formulae, indicate any assumptions made.
(f) Different parts of the problem, e.g., a), b), c), must be clearly noted, and b) must follow
(be below) a), and c) must follow (be below) b).
(g) at the end of the solution, the final answer (with units if appropriate) should be enclosed
in a box
(h) Each problem should be separated by blank space, two horizontal lines, and more blank
space.
Marks may be deducted if the above format is not followed, or if the work is otherwise not understandable.
