actual name; dont just type your name! )

Exercise 2:

Set Up Your Page

In this exercise well work on setting up the page. See if you can do the following:
Change the margins for this document to be: Left: 2 Right 2 Top: 1 Bottom: 1
Change the page orientation to Portrait

Exercise 3:

Formatting Text

Can you find all your familiar text formatting tools? Follow the instructions below to see!
Change this sentence to 12 point Ravie.
Change this sentence to 14 point Garamond Antiqua.

Change The Case Of This Sentence To Sentence Case. (Dont do it manually! Find the Word function.)
Change the color of this sentence to purple.

Exercise 4:

Formatting Paragraphs

Now see if you can do some paragraph formatting.

Align this sentence to the right.
Align this sentence in the center.

Turn the following list into a bulleted list:

peanut butter

Change the spacing of the following text to double spaced.

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

Make the ruler visible so you can see where your margins, tabs, and indents are.
Indent this sentence 1 in from the margin.

Find and Replace

Give this challenge a try:

Use Find and Replace to replace a middle school with the middle school that you actually attend.
I attend a middle school in Savannah, Georgia. A middle school is the best school in Chatham County. I love
attending a middle school.

Exercise 9:

Inserting Things

Explore the Insert tab with these practice exercises:

Insert a page break.
Use Microsoft Clip Art (not Google images!) to insert a picture of a teacher any teacher you like!
After you have inserted your teacher, copy and paste the image, change its size to be bigger than the original.
Copy and paste the original image again, change its size to be smaller than the original.

Exercise 7: Set Up Your Page (advanced)

In this exercise well work on setting up the page. See if you can do the following:
Give this document a decorative border.
Change the page color of the document.

Exercise 8: Explore a Little More

Give these challenges a try:
Change the Zoom level to 100%. Now set it to 50%. And finally, set it wherever is easiest for you to read this
Select the previous sentence. How many words are in that sentence? How about in this entire document?
Add a couple of items to your Quick Launch Toolbar.
Create a pdf version of this document and save. Submit the pdf version to Edmodo for grading.
