Announcing the 772 Off Highway Truck

Marketing Strategy Caterpillar announces the 772 off-highway truck. With a nominal
payload of 50-tons, the 772 is a new edition to the Q&CT product line-up. This truck
provides an excellent 4-pass match to a 988H and a 4-5 pass match to the 385 ME. In
addition, this new model fills a 50-ton gap left when the 773B grew to 60 tons.
The features on the 772 include a revolutionary center-mounted cab, a new C18 engine
with ACERT Technology, and greatly improved access and egress. The 772 was
designed to lower customers cost per ton, meet regulatory requirements, and provide
the operator with a safe, comfortable, and more productive work environment.

Enhancements
C18 Engine
The 772 has the CAT C18 Engine with
ACERT Technology, which will deliver
the performance, reliability and durability
customers have come to expect from
Caterpillar. The C18 engine is designed to
extend the service intervals from 250
hours to 500 hours. A newly designed
block adds structural strength, while a
reengineered cylinder head delivers
improved airflow.
