January 19th Note Calendar Notes • The Social Studies Fair is this Friday, from 6-8pm.

Projects will be judged throughout this week and ribbons will be given on Friday. Students should have their projects at school on Tuesday. • This Wednesday we will be having our monthly meal night at Marie Calendars. This event will last until 9pm. If you need another flier, please stop by the office. • Grades 6-8 sing in the early service on Sunday, January 24th. We will be singing “In Christ Alone.” Classroom Notes • The spelling list is Unit 21 for this week. The song for Friday is “In Christ Alone.” • Electives began last week and will continue until the end of the year. Students in Explorations have chosen a topic to research and present. This week in Economics, students will be given their username and passwords for the “Stock Market Game.” In this web based activity, students are “given” $100,000 to invest in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. They will compete against other students from the area until the game ends on April 23rd. Lab Skills is wrapping up a density lab. • Students have begun learning and practicing the basic skills of soccer. • Girl’s Basketball practices Tuesday and Thursday. • Boy’s Basketball practices Tuesday and Thursday also. • Please look for two notes concerning our upcoming field trips. • Last Friday was Mrs. Schneider’s last day. She has decided that she will no longer be teaching and instead will be helping take care of her grandchild. After some switching of classes, I will be taking over her Literature and Language responsibilities. She will be greatly missed in the classroom. • I apologize, but there were some problems concerning the report cards that were sent home last Friday. Some students did not have the correct Literature or Language grades shown. There was a problem with My Student’s Progress that was resolved. A correct copy of your child’s report card will be sent home Tuesday. You may discard the previous one. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. God’s blessings on your week, Mr. Fillner
