ITEMS OF INTEREST

New Program at CTA for girls in Grades 3-6: We are excited to announce a new program for 3rd through 6th grade girls called
Girls Charging Ahead. This new program is similar to the pre-existing, popular Girls on the Run© Program. Starting in March, Ms.
Samantha Liscombe and Mrs. Amy VanHarten will be leading Girls Charging Ahead.
This program combines learning life skills and dynamic interactive exercises such as running and training for a 5k (our culminating
activity). Most importantly, it increases the girls’ confidence in their individual strengths and talents, celebrates who they are as
people, and promotes appreciation for others’ differences. It’s also FUN!
The program is for girls in grades 3rd through 6th who attend CTA. We will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30pm.
Each girl will be asked to bring a snack at least once on her assigned date. Also, parents will need to pick up their students promptly at
4:30pm on practice days. There will be an informational meeting for parents and families in the CTA auditorium on Wednesday,
February 18 at 3:15pm.

If you have any questions regarding this program, feel free to contact Mrs. VanHarten at avanharten@ctachargers.org, Ms. Liscombe
at sliscombe@ctachargers.org, or Mr. O at doldebekking@ctachargers.org. We can’t wait to start charging ahead with your
daughters!
