Using a video camera to record the children as they practice balancing can help to
improve how the children perform. Playing the video back to the class can allow
others to see how their peers manage to do the task which, in turn may give them
ideas on how to improve their own skills.
Science Grade 1
Allow the children to search the internet using the three key words of solid, liquid
and gas. Not only will this help improve basic computer skills, but if each student
can find a different informative website or video etc. on the subjects, then sharing
this information with others in the class will reinforce the learning outcome by
allowing them to see a variety of information.
3.1
Using a document camera such as an Elmo to project specific books onto the wall or
large screen will make it easier for a teacher to explain to a large class the
structural differences in say a fantasy book to that of a legend. It also will allow the
children to be able to physically go up to a screen and point out features and ask
related questions.
Science Grade 4

Students could use Wiki to research the topic of Topography in California. This will
help them form a basic insight into the subject and may help provide links to other
sources of related information.
Music -Grade 7
Using a specific website which features musical works by the same composer or one
which features the ability to search songs by different orchestras will allow a child
to access the differences in musical types and performances for specific works.
History Grade 8
Using a web component of a specific curriculum will give access to the necessary
information needed surrounding the American Revolution. This will cut down the
issue of wasting time analyzing information which is not specific to the topic.

Using specific software which is capable of finding and presenting the rhetorical
devices that are part of historical speeches. This will also give great practice in
using software correctly and effectively.
3.1
Using a desktop publishing program such as Google Docs will allow children to
share tips and comments to each other and the teachers regarding the issue of safe
and responsible behavior. This may highlight things which the teacher may not
have originally thought of.
