PARISH BULLETIN February 15th, 2015

FR. JOHNS WEBNOTES February 15 - 6th Ordinary Time
Today the modern media, which are an essential part of life for young people in particular, can be both a help and a
hindrance to communication in and between families. The media can be a hindrance if they become a way to avoid
listening to others, to evade physical contact, to fill up every moment of silence and rest, so that we forget that silence
is an integral element of communication; in its absence, words rich in content cannot exist. (BENEDICT XVI, Message
for the 2012 World Communications Day). Pope Francis. Message for World Communications Day, 2015
Observing people can be enlightening. How many times have you gone out for dinner, or a coffee and seen people
who are out with each other, but are glued to their electronic devises? I often wonder, why go out with others if your
whole time is dedicated to a devise and not the person in front of you? Are people not really saying someone is more
important than you at this moment?
DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE BRINGS THE JOY OF THE GOSPEL FOR SHARE LENT 2015

announcements features quotations from Pope Francis apostolic exhortation, The Joy of the Gospel. In each
one, DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE shares the joy of its mission. We hope the Holy Fathers inspiring words will lead
you to read the full text, and move you to give generously to the Share Lent campaign. Learn more at

Sacrament of the Altar. To find the closest place or the most convenient time for you to adore, look at the list below.
HOLY CROSS PARISH - The adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on the first Tuesday of each month
following the rosary which starts at 7:30 pm. For anyone joining for the adoration, it generally starts around 8:oo pm

and it lasts 30 minutes. Holy Cross Parish is located at 765, Pierre Pich Street, in Boucherville.
ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI PARISH - On the first Thursday of the month, right after the 9:00 am mass, the Blessed
Sacrament is exposed for about 45 minutes and the Blessed Sacrament is also exposed for silent adoration on the last
Saturday of the month, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm (until May 30). St. Francis of Assisi Parish is located at 844 Notre Dame
Street, in St. Lambert.
ST. MARY'S PARISH - Each Saturday morning, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed. Also,
on the first Friday of the month, mass is celebrated at 9:30 am. After mass up until 4:00 pm, St. Mary's Parish gives to
all the faithful the opportunity to adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. St. Mary's Parish is located at 125
Grove Street, in Greenfield Park.
LA MAISON DE PRIRE NOTRE-DAME - The sisters from the Congregation of Notre-Dame CND open their quiet
and prayerful chapel, in the Maison de prire Notre-Dame, to all the faithful who wish to spend some time in a heart-toheart conversation with Jesus. The chapel is located at 180 De Normandie, Longueuil, and is open every day, from
9:00 am to 9:00 pm. To make sure the chapel is available for prayer, you can call: 450-674-4884.
