ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING: Saint
Marys Annual Church Meeting will be held
on Sunday March 1st. We are in need of
officers and trustees to serve on the Parish
Council. Please make an effort to be with us
on this day to hear about the new initiatives
that will commence in the upcoming year.
LENTEN PRAYER OF SAINT EPHREM:
Please recite it daily:
O Lord and Master of my life, take from me
the spirit of sloth, despair, lust of power, and
idle talk.

But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility,

patience, and love to Thy servant.
Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my
own transgressions, and not to judge my
brother, for blessed art Thou, unto ages of
ages. Amen.
HOLY SEASON OF GREAT LENT: We are
in the Holy Season of Great Lent. Please
make an effort to be spiritually mindful of
what is required by you to make this spiritual
journey the most prayerful by practicing the
disciplines of the Holy Orthodox Church.
Include everyday spiritual readings, prayer,
fasting, and attending the Liturgy of the
Presanctified Gifts each Wednesday and
Friday morning beginning at 10 AM.
HOLY CONFESSION: Please be reminded
that Father John is available before the
Divine Liturgy on Sundays beginning at
9:00AM until the beginning of Hours on
Sunday which is 9:45AM to hear your

confession. During the Season of Great Lent

it is required that every Orthodox Christian
go to confession during Lent. Father John is
also available before the Wednesday and
Friday Presanctified Liturgy and upon
request.
ADULT EDUCATION / CHURCH SCHOOL
CLASSES: Adult Education classes will be
held every Sunday during the month of
March. Protodeacon John Suchernick has
prepared some insightful lessons on the
Divine Liturgy. Please make an effort to
attend class beginning at 9:15 until hours at
9:45.

year 2015. Cost to sponsor this Newsletter per
month this year is only $50.00. Due to the
rising costs of materials to produce this

PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AFTER
COMMUNION: Please be advised that
during the Holy Season of Great Lent after
the kissing of the cross we will gather in
church and recite the Prayers of
Thanksgiving after the reception of Holy
Communion. This practice is a way in which
we can increase our prayer during the season
of Great Lent. Please stay a few minutes and
recite these beautiful prayers.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT: Lent is
about change and growth. If we go through
Lent and do everything the church asks us to
do, but in the end, we have not changed even
a little, then for the better, it will have been a
