Mask templates, scissors, crayons, leftover


construction paper, the glue stick, the book, and the
instruction sheet must be returned with the book bag!

Directions: Answer the following questions on the Answer Sheet. Return the
answer sheet with the book bag.
1. Which poem was your favorite and why?
2. How many ghost where in the whole house in the poem Countdown?
3. In The Goblin, the boy is afraid of the goblin outside his window. Have you
ever been afraid of something at night? What did you do?
4. In Trick, the children play tricks on the people that would not give them
candy. Was this the right thing to do? What would you have done differently?
5. Why do you think we carve pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns around Halloween?
6. Write a few sentences about a time that you went trick-or-treating.

Make your own Its Halloween Book


Use the blank book to write your own Halloween book. You can either write a
Halloween story or you can write 3 short, Halloween poems. Illustrate your book!
If you write a story, be sure to use complete sentences. Your story should have a
beginning, a middle, and an end!
If you write poems, you may use the poems in the book as inspiration. The poems
do not have to be long but write only one poem on each page of your book.
Return your completed book with the book bag so that your teacher can read your
good work!

Halloween Mask
Black Cat Mask Directions
1. Trace the mask onto the large piece of construction
paper. Dont forget to trace the eye holes.
2. Trace two ears on the grey paper. For the eyes, trace
once with side A facing up and one time with side B
facing up. Use the yellow paper. Dont forget to trace
the eye holes!
3. Carefully cut out your mask, two ears, and two eyes.
Ask an adult to cut out the eye holes for you!
4. Use the glue stick to glue the eyes and the ears to the
mask. Line up the eye holes.
5. Loop a piece of string around each flap on the mask. Fold down the flaps and glue them
so that the string stays in place.
6. Draw eye slits onto each eye like in the picture!
7. Put on the mask by tying the strings behind your head! Youre ready to take your black cat
stroll!

Goblin Mask Directions


1. Trace the mask onto the large piece of construction
paper. Dont forget to trace the eye holes.
2. For the eyes, trace one time with side A facing up
and one time with side B facing up. Use the white
paper. Dont forget the eye holes!
3. Carefully cut out your mask and two eyes. Ask an
adult to cut out the eye holes for you!
4. Line up the eye holes on the eyes and the mask. Use
the glue stick to glue them in place. .
5. Loop a piece of string around each flap on the mask. Fold down the flaps and glue them
so that the string stays in place.
6. Draw veins and black pupils onto each eye like in the picture!
7. Put on the mask by tying the strings behind your head! Now youre as green as a goblin
can be!
