Over the course of my career | earned 4 degrees fram UI (tivo music degrees, a law degree, and an MBA) and ‘worked in a wide range of positions~fist as secretary, then Hancher Box Office Manager, and subsequently, a5 Office Manager for the UI Foundation. After earning my law degree, l worked for 10 years as in-house counsel for then Director ohn W. Colloton, practicing health care lav, and with major responsibility for legislative relations, including the forming of the grassroots lobbying group, "Friends ofthe UIHC." ‘Thereafter I worked as Assistant VP for University Relations, continuing my legislative relations work on behalf of the entre Ul developing a strategic communications plan for the Ul; and serving as administrator for the public radio stations ina rejuvenation that resulted, among other things, inthe creation of such programs as Talk of iowa, and Know the Score, From there | worked as Special Assistant for then Vice President of Operations and Treasurer, Doug True~continuing legislative relations, drafting Regential correspondence, managing consultant reviews, searches, and conducting program reviews. In the Provost’ office I continued to conduct program reviews and, in a one-year stint, worked in International Programs where | created a strategic communications program, that included the development of the program WorldCanvass, hosted by Joan Kjaer. Finally, I worked as Special Assistant tothe Dean of the Law School, where I created an outreach ‘and engagement brochure, wrote the self-study, and helped identify a consultant and a plan for heightened strategic communications, among other things ‘have a broad understanding of Ul programs, fiscal challenges, policy isues, and faculty, staff, and student Interests and needs. | also have a long-standing interes in, and knowledge of, UI, Regent, and statewide polite.
