Dear Sir/Madam,
I am glad to forward my CV to you for application for the role of Software
developer intern as advertised on Brunel careers website. I am currently
in my second year of a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science (Software
Engineering) at Brunel University London.
The nature and content of my degree course has very well prepared me
for this position. It has so far involved a great deal of group work,
independent research, self-motivation, time management and a wide
range of other skills. Over the last academic year, I worked on two
compulsory first year projects at Brunel University London. I made use of
Java to program a finch robot to carry out a specific task and to create a
well-functioning noughts and crosses (X and O) game. In my second year I
developed a location based android app for one of my core modules where
I made a good use of SQLite for data storage. As a potential software
developer, I would like to apply for this position because I want to improve
my skills as well as show the strength of my academic knowledge.
In addition to my academic background, I can also offer skills and
experiences that are beneficial in work places. I have credible leadership
qualities, strong organizational and communication skills, and work
confidently and effectively in teams. I have been assigned to two team
during my stay at Brunel University; one in my first year in which I
successfully delivered excellent results. I am currently in a team of 6,
working on databases and servlets on a UNIX platform, Putty. One of my
core modules in second year is Algorithms and their application. I have
learnt how genetic algorithm, data clustering and travel salesman problem
can be used in our everyday life. It is one of my favorite modules since I
get to apply my logical problem solving and analytical skills,
I am currently available for an interview scheduled at the convenience of
Bloomberg Company. I have attached my CV detailing my academic
knowledge and my technical skills. Your time and consideration is greatly
Yours Sincerely,
Bertha Sanga.
