Burk 1412 Main Street, Suite 2100 Dallas, Texas 75202 March 5, 2015 Dallas City Plan Commission 1500 Marilla Dallas, Texas RE: Opposition to the Preston Center Sky Bridge - Zoning Case Z134-341 Dear Members of the City Plan Commission: ‘The Preston Center West Parking Corporation (PCW) operates, maintains and secures the city- owned parking garage in Preston Center. A majority of the PCW property owners, representing 81% of the square footage ownership in the corporation (excluding the applicant), are now in opposition to the skybridge. Additionally, three adjacent property owners are opposed, bringing the total square footage owned by opponents to over 400,000. Those PCW owners in support of the skybridge collectively own less than 75,000 square feet, or 19%, of corporation property. The opposition to approval of the skybridge includes the largest homeowner associations in the Preston Center area, representing 2,500 residential property owners: Preston Hollow East Homeowners Association, Preston Hollow South Neighborhood Association, and the Inwood- Northwest Homeowners Association. Given the overwhelming and broad opposition, we urge the Plan Commission to deny this request, or alternatively, postpone it until the completion of the Preston Road Northwest Highway Area Plan, which commenced this week and will most certainly include a recommendation to replace the existing parking deck, as was discussed in our first meeting on March 2.
