What Are Chipmunks

"

They are going NUTS! Big bulging cheeks storing nuts and then
eating the nuts is it why they are going NUTS! What else can these
small creatures do to you? Be
your pet? No way they will
chew on your socks, eat your
finger and what else? Read on
to find out about chipmunks not
squirrels. "
" The cute small creatures are
small members of the squirrel
family. Chipmunks have fur and
are mammals. But they aren’t
large, our biggest species is the
eastern chipmunk which grows
up to about 11 inches and
weighs 4.4 ounces. The most
common species is the Red
Coloured Chipmunks with light brown stripes on their backs. Those
chipmunks are the North American kind.Right now they are more
popular pets now! The other colours I found out are beige, brown, black,
or yellow."

inches. The tree squirrels smallest size is equal to chipmunks and
ground squirrels biggest average size the size is 12 inches in length."

now the Siberian chipmunks are not only in Asia. Siberian

America."

have all kind of rolls "

1) Cheek pouches allow rapid collection of food. "
2) Chipmunks use it as temporary storage and transport"

Where Do We Live? "

"

There are around 25 species of
chipmunks in North America that we know
of. But there is one kind that doesn’t live in
North America the chipmunks specie is
called Tamias Sibiricus or Eutamias
Sibiricus. Not all of the chipmunks live in
these habitats, the habitats are forests and woodlands. " "
"
Chipmunks do die like everything does, and our predators are
weasels, hawks, snakes, foxes, racoons, and you. Humans are a
danger for chipmunks. The chipmunks life span is 4-8 years, but
chipmunks in the wild average life is only 2-3 years. No need to cry,
chipmunks do reproduce. Female chipmunks mate with more than one
male chipmunk during mating
seasons. The mating
seasons are February-April
and June-August. If a female
chipmunk is pregnant they
get very active. They also
become more aggressive
and passive about their
private area during
GESTATION. Gestation
period is 31 days for LongEared chipmunk, 35 – 40
days for Siberian chipmunk."
"
Chipmunks mostly gather their food on the ground areas like under
bush, rocks, logs, and trees. Then they hide in bushes from their
predators. Did you know that even animals have a diet and the
chipmunks diet is omnivore?"
"

"

"

rocks. Chipmunks are good at climbing trees, but they spent most of
their time on ground.
