The Seven Churches of Aisa

This Document is written to breakdown the stronghold of second repentance and willful sin after being born
again. Written in love, but those who would believe you can still sin willfully, and be born again, are a false
brethren. He who sins is of the devil. Some use the Churches in Asia to say that after a person has truly been
converted, they can still sin repent, sin repent the willful sins of the flesh, described in Galatians 5:19-24.
And not die, or say this another way, that you can die spiritually again and again, after coming to the knowledge
of the truth under the blood of Jesus Christ, and come back from being dead twice, refuting Jude 1:12, Hebrews
6, Hebrews 10.
You cannot come back from twice dead. This is the Fear of God. The Terror of the Lord.
Paul said there is no Fear of God before their eyes.
God is plentiful in mercy to those who Fear Him, and Hope in His Mercy.
Sin is exceedingly sinful under the New Covenant.
This false interpretation makes the Word of God contradict itself, and makes God a respecter of persons. The
question is always, when does the sin stop? If a person is coming to the Word of God and believing there is a
place to hide in willful rebellion to God, they are a false brethren. The passages in Hebrews 6 and 10, must then
be explained away, as many have done, in an attempt to allow for their sin, and to reconcile these passages.
There is no place to hide in sin in Gods Word.
It is by the Fear of God, of the passages of Hebrews 10:26, and Hebrews 6:4-6, and others, that men depart from
iniquity. Twisting the Word of God in these passages removes the fear of God, and you have the heretical sin
repent, sin repent Gospel, which is not repentance, but a false brethren. There is a semi holiness message
being preached today on the streets. They cry repent, but they still have many strongholds that allow for willful
sin. This is not the truth, and it is the truth that sets men free. The truth is that you cannot sin and not surely die.
This article is not above reproach, nor does it claim to be without error, it is written in the utmost of respect and
fear of God for the Book of Revelation. It was written in love, and in the hopes of getting people to really dig
deep into Gods Word, read each word, slowly, and carefully, and with love, and with an honest heart. It was
written in the fear of God, and in the hopes of His Mercy.

1) Ephesus:
REV 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right
hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
REV 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and
thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
REV 2:3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
REV 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
REV 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come
unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
REV 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
REV 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give
to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
First He praises them for their patience and thou canst not bear them which are evil.
And try those who say they are Apostles, but are LIARs. It cant be possible that they were evil and wicked, if they
were not bearing with evil.
This seems to be something that crept in. Non presumptuous sin, while they were laboring.
Not willful, unintentional. Their love started to fizzle, Look at the severity. Jesus now gives them a warning. If they
Dont repent, it will become willful, and then they will be SNUFFED OUT. NO RETURN. Jesus rebukes His TRUE
children. Those who have truly come through bitter repentance. He rebukes those who may be starting to slip
unaware. Those in willful rebellion are NOT Gods children, they are children of the devil. (1 John 3 3-10) He tells
them to REMEMBER,(verse 5) bring to mind. This does not appear to be willful, if He must call it to their
attention. However, now that they know, they must be mindful and turn, or this is now willful, and they will be
snuffed out.
There is no excuse here in these passages for willful rebellion.

2) Smyrna:
REV 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead,
and is alive;
REV 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them
which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
REV 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that
ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of
REV 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be
hurt of the second death.
Smyrna is not given a warning, just encouragement to continue. He is telling them not to fear the false brethren.
And giving them encouragement. Not a warning. Only those who overcome will not be hurt of the second death. We
cannot use the Church of Smyrna for an excuse to sin willfully.

3) Pergamos:
REV 2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp
sword with two edges;
REV 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast
my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who
was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
REV 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of
Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed
unto idols, and to commit fornication.
REV 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
REV 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my
REV 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that
overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new
name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
They held fast, did not deny the faith, even in the face of death, but they have allowed false brethren to enter in that
hold a different doctrine. This shows how serious it is to NOT have fellowship with false brethren. To be exclusive,
set apart. Again, I dont see this as willful sin and them saying in rebellion
No Jesus, we are going to do things our way, but thanks just the same,
but something that crept in, and they are being admonished, and told to deal with it or else.
I suppose people read these passages quickly and do not dig in, and believe that these people were in fornication,
They were not.
Jesus said thou has there them. They were mixed in with the true children of God, false brethren with false
They had allowed those who had taught the doctrine of Balaam, who TAUGHT Balac to cast a stumbling block
before the children of Israel to commit fornication, which in this case is used with eat things sacrificed to idols.
Fornication is often also used as idolatry in the Word of God. It does not appear this was se**ual sin, but idolatry,
and false doctrine, and not the actual church itself, but those who were there among them. These passages are not
being read closely by those who use them as an excuse to fornicate. It appears that false brethren had crept in, and
false doctrine.
The Church at Pergamos cannot be used as an excuse to sin willfully.

4) Thyatira
REV 2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who
hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
REV 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the
last to be more than the first.
REV 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel,
which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat
things sacrificed unto idols.
REV 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
REV 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation,
except they repent of their deeds.
REV 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which
searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
REV 2:24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which
have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
REV 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
REV 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the
That woman Jezebel - There is an allusion here to the history of Ahab and Jezebel, as given in 2 Kings 9:1-10:36;
and although we do not know who this Jezebel was, yet from the allusion we may take it for granted she was a
woman of power and influence, who corrupted the truth, and harassed the followers of God in that city, as Jezebel
did in Israel. It could have been that this bad woman may have been the wife of the elder of the Church, and his
criminality in suffering her was therefore the greater. She called herself a prophetess, i.e., set up for a teacher; taught
the Christians that fornication, and eating things offered to idols, were matters of indifference, and thus they were
seduced from the truth. But it is probable that by fornication here is meant idolatry merely, which is often its
meaning in the Scriptures.
We read further into the passages that THE REST (verse 24) did not have THIS DOCTRINE. No further burden
was upon them. I see the severe warning in this passage, that they are to rid themselves of this false doctrine, or be
Departing from God and going to false Gods or false doctrines, is often referred to as fornication and adultery,
but does not always mean the act of se**ual sin. The New King James Bible however, has perverted the passage
and does call this blatantly actual se**ual sin. We know to read verses in context, and see that they were eating
things offered to idols, - fornication. It would seem again, that they were partaking in the same thing that the
Church at Pergamos, allowing in false brethren to teach.
Jezebel was a false brethren. A seducing spirit. A false teacher. Which is what all the Apostles in their epistles
warned of over and over about false brethren and false teachers creeping in unawares to destroy the flock.
1TIM 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to
seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1TIM 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1TIM 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with
thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
There is no excuse here for willful se**ual immorality in these passages.

5) Sardis:

REV 3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven
Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
REV 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found
thy works perfect before God.
REV 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore
thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon
REV 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall
walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
REV 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name
out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
REV 3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
This is a frightening warning for those who believe you do not have to be PERFECT. These were not
PERFECT. And only a few of them did not defile their garments, only those who did not defile their
garments will walk with Jesus in white, for THEY are worthy.
From verse 3, it seems as though many of them had already died. art dead.
They are admonished to strenghthen the remaining that were ready to die. Their works were not
PERFECT. For those who say that God does not expect perfection, this is a sobering warning.

There is no excuse for willful rebellion in the Church of Sardis, Only a sobering warning.

6) Philadelphia
REV 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he
that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
REV 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little
strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
REV 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie;
behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
REV 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which
shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
REV 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
REV 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will
write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh
down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
REV 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
They did not do anything wrong, and were encouraged to keep going.

7) Laodicea
REV 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the
faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
REV 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
REV 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
REV 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and
knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
REV 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment,
that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes
with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
REV 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
REV 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will
come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
REV 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and
am set down with my Father in his throne.
REV 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The key to the passage is that Jesus said to them that they KNOWEST NOT. Verse 17.
If they knew not, then it would be impossible for this to be willful, with knowledge and intent.
These passages should bring fear, and not comfort, even in ignorance. Jesus said in Hosea,

HOS 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge,
I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy
God, I will also forget thy children.
Lack of knowledge can also destroy. These KNEW NOT. I believe they were allowed to
repent, and become zealous again because this was not willful rebellion.
Again, I see no place to hide in willfull rebellion in Gods Word.
Jesus is coming back to judge the living and the dead. And to convince those of sin, who are not
convinced of their sin. It will be too late.

PS 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Jesus hates all workers of iniquity. But those he LOVES, he rebukes. They were not in willful
sin, otherwise God wouldnt have loved them. They were beginning to fall into complacency,
and had allowed false doctrines to creep in.

Could the way be even more narrow than we believe?

Woe Be
JER 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith
the LORD.
This was the fear of the Apostles, when they would depart, there would be false Apostles that would deceive.

2 Peter 2:1-3
1 John 4:1
Matthew 7:15-20
2 Timothy 4:1-22
Ephesians 4:14-15
Romans 16:17

In conclusion:
It appears these churches had begun to grow cold while laboring, let false teachers creep in, and although diligent in
many areas, were not perfect and this was IN IGNORANCE.
The sobering warnings that were given were frightening.
This also teaches the seriousness of allowing false teachers to come in to the fellowship.
They cause people to commit idolatry, (also referred to as fornication in many places of the Bible)
These false teachers feed off of people. They are hungry wolves who either want money, admiration, or other things,
and they are not of the Spirit, they shapeshift themselves, change in their doctrines and go from place to place, and
cause people to idolize them over the word of God.
JUD 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear:
clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked
up by the roots;
There is no place to hide in Gods Word to commit the sins of the flesh in willful rebellion. Those who believe they
have found an excuse, are deceived, and reading by a spirit of error. Those who sin willfully, and those who love
their sin, are given over to strong delusion.

1PET 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without

respect of persons judgeth according to every man's
work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
