Kinder Prep News

April News
This month is packed full of exciting and
interesting things! After a couple of days
finishing Safety, we head into Feelings and
identifying a variety of them. We will then do
some scientific exploration with Forces and
Motion. Near the end of the month we will be
learning about Caterpillars & Butterflies. I just
ordered our live caterpillar larvae so hopefully
they will be hatching right around the time we get
to that unit. Lastly we will explore various
insects and learn more about what makes an
insect an insect.

Important Dates
Thursday, April 30 is Purple Show-N-Tell
Day. Have your child come dressed in purple,
share something purple, and we will have a
purple snack as well!

April Skills
During Literacy/Letter Time this month I will
introduce the diagonal letters Xx, Yy, and Zz
and then we will review all the Diagonals.
During the Math Center, I will be having the
students work with geometry concepts as well
as finishing up positional words. We will also be
dong more sorting and classifying as well as
identification and extension of patterns.
This months character education topic is
honesty. I will talk about this topic during the
Feelings unit. We will discuss how we feel when
we dont tell the truth and how important it is
to always be honest.

Odds and Ends

This is the last month I will be sending
home sight words. Please continue to
review all the words with your child.
