Dance was used to heal


people
Dance was also used to
praise gods
Dance as well before a war
and after wars to celebrate
or commemorate
Dance even had a right of
passages
Rain dance was used to
cause rain

THEN DANCE USED TO EXPRESS

Dance was used to express someone's feelings


for the opposite sex to attract them.

Dance was another way for people to tell storys


to keep them going generation to generation.

Dance was meant to be fun even from the


beginning of dance.

BALLROOM

Ballroom dance is
style of dance that
has two people
That has branched
off into: Waltz,
Salsa, Swing.

JAZZ

Jazz dance was not original its own style it was


collection of types of dances that people would do
to Jazz music. Ex. Tap dancing, or Swing
The dance is its own style based on a bunch of
different moves from ballet to Caribbean types of
moves.
The jazz style has been sampled in many different
ways and has some part and just about most of all
modern dance moves.
Jazz dance has been used on countless Broadway
shows.

CONTEMPORARY

This style as well has a


mixture of other dances being
ballet and modern dance.
When you look at it being
dance it looks out of order or
out of control but
It truly is just much more raw,
more passionate dance and is
sight to see when done right.

HIP-HOP

Now hip hop born in


1970s
Hip-hop dancing
was made popular
by dance crews on
Soul Train
This style has
actually a lot of
Jazz, and capoeira
in it

This dance begin in


either the West coast
or in New York
honestly you have to
chose
Hip hop branchs
into two parts:
Breakdancing
Electric Boogaloo
(pop&lock)
