RENAISSANCE PAINTING

It is the painting of the period between the early 15th and early 17th centuries in Italy and other rich regions of Europe. Renaissance painters used colour,
composition and background scenes, such as buildings and landscapes, to create an impression of space and depth. They discovered perspective. Inspired by
classical Antiquity, their figures had harmonious proportions and aimed for beauty by idealising faces, bodies and movements. Besides religious subjects, there
were also mythological scenes, nudes and portraits
