FADE IN
TITLE OVER:
HALLWAY
TWO GUARDS emerge from the darkness and slowly walk down
the hall towards a particular cell; they are holding
several handcuffs and leg restrainers.
PRISON CELL
The walls are dirty and moist from the humidity. Several
old newspaper clippings have been taped up to decorate the
walls. They include headlines such as:
MILITARY GUARD #1
Viper.
(pause)
Viper.

MILITARY GUARD #2
Come on, you‟re due in court in
two hours. You don‟t want to keep
the judge and all those pretty
little reporters waiting now, do
you?
MILITARY GUARD #1
You know the drill, put your
arms out and walk slowly up to
the cell door.
MILITARY GUARD #1
Now!
MILITARY GUARD #2
You‟re not so tough. You‟re a
bitch just like every other two
bit terrorist that‟s ever walked
this earth – from Osama to McVeigh
to you.
MILITARY GUARD #1
Ok, he‟s secured…let‟s move out.
MILITARY GUARD #2
This is the detention center…we
have secured the inmate and will
be transporting him to the convoy
immediately.
Guard #1 unlocks the cell door and leads Viper out into the
HALLWAY
MILITARY GUARD #1
Get up, don‟t lie down on me.
MILITARY GUARD #2
That one‟s for my cousin, he was
in the Sears Tower when you blew
it up.
The guards help Viper back up and they walk to the end of
the hallway where a door swings open revealing the bright,
sunny skies of the outside world.
MILITARY GUARD #2
Ready to complete transfer.
MILITARY GUARD #1
Relax! Your life will be much
more pleasant if you don‟t resist.

MILITARY GUARD #1
Sir, I present you the prisoner
to be transferred to the federal
district court.
ARMY COLONEL
So, you are the one they call…
Viper.
MILITARY GUARD #2
He‟s barely said two words since
he‟s been incarcerated here.
ARMY COLONEL
What, pretty boy all nervous?
He can‟t handle the piss poor
conditions, is that why he
doesn‟t speak?
MILITARY GUARD #1
Colonel, I‟m sure you are well
aware, but I just want to warn
you, this thing is pure evil,
he‟s capable of anything. We‟ve
witnessed him first hand over
the past few months, we know what
he‟s about. Don‟t turn your back
on him for a second.
ARMY COLONEL
Thank you for the advice soldier,
but I‟ve got it from here. I think
I‟ll be able to take care of this
with no problem.

ARMY COLONEL
Enjoy the ride.
ARMY COLONEL
Ahhh, there‟s nothing better
than hitting up a good Cuban
during a relaxing afternoon
drive.
VIPER‟S CAGE
Upon noticing what time it is, Viper laughs which draws the
attention of the Colonel.
ARMY COLONEL
(angrily)
What‟s so funny, why are you
laughing?
(pause)
I said, what‟s so funny?!
VIPER
(smirks)
You‟ll see.
Viper puts his head back against the side of the vehicle
and closes his eyes again.
As the convoy passes, the man looks up from the hood and
stares at it. He makes eye contact with the Colonel.
The Colonel notices this man staring at him but is not too
concerned about his predicament though.
ARMY COLONEL
This is a hell of a place to
breakdown. He might be stranded
there for a while.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 10
ARMY DRIVER
Sir, should I call in help for
him?
ARMY COLONEL
No solider, let‟s just concentrate
on the mission at hand.
The man slams down the hood and hurries into the driver‟s
seat. He drives up to the convoy, trailing it by about 50
yards.
Hidden within the tall grass alongside the road are several
mercenary-type men dressed in all black. They are lying on
their stomachs and holding M-16 machine guns.
HELICOPTER PILOT
We see no problems on the horizon,
estimated time of arrival is…
Two of the MERCENARIES run out of the tall grass onto the
road and in front of the convoy. They begin to shoot up
the first vehicle of the convoy with their machine guns.
ARMY COLONEL
What the hell is going on! What
the hell is going on up there!
ARMY COLONEL
(to the driver)
Come on, get out! We have to
create a perimeter around the
vehicle and secure the prisoner!
The colonel looks into the back of the vehicle where Viper
is imprisoned.
VIPER‟S CAGE
ARMY COLONEL
Did you do this?!
ARMY COLONEL

Die, die, die! Boys, secure the
vehicle; don‟t let anyone come

hell on earth!
VIPER‟S CAGE
Vixen shoots the lock off the back door of the truck that
is containing Viper and whips the door open.
Viper emerges from the darkness of his cage and enjoys his
first breath of fresh air in a long time.
VIPER
(smoothly)
Vixen.

VIXEN
Viper.
Viper jumps out of the truck, embraces Viper and gives her
a passionate kiss.
VIPER
I‟m happy to see you. You‟re a
sight for sore eyes.
VIXEN
Come on, let‟s go before
reinforcements get here.
Vixen grabs Viper‟s hand and runs towards the U-Haul truck
that was parked on the side of the road behind the convoy.
VIXEN
Let‟s go, men. We‟re out!
As the U-Haul takes off down the road, the devices go off
in the convoy setting off several large explosions.
VIXEN
What now?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 16
VIPER
I don‟t know, maybe I‟ll give
myself up to the first local
sheriff I see. You know this
five minutes of freedom has
been fun and all, but I don‟t
think it‟s for me.
VIXEN
(laughs)
Yeah, I‟m sure we went through
this whole elaborate plan just
so you can be sent back to prison.
Seriously, we succeeded in getting
you out, but what do we do now?
You know you can‟t show your face
anywhere.
(pause)
We should‟ve planned this out
when we were planning your escape.
VIPER
One step at a time; the most
important thing was getting me
free, I didn‟t want to
overcomplicate things by creating
an elaborate plan that involved
too many steps. I was worried
we‟d lose focus at that point and
screw up the rescue.
VIXEN
OK, now you‟re free though. So
what are we going to do?
VIPER
Well, after we dump this truck,
I figure we‟ll hideout in Miami
for a little bit.
VIXEN
Not a bad idea. There are so
many criminals in Miami already,
we should blend right in.
VIPER
Exactly. Actually, we‟re going
to go see one of my main financial

supporters, he lives on the Beach.
He should be able to arrange safe
passage for us out of the country.
VIXEN
Can we trust him?
VIPER
Oh yeah, we can trust him, believe
me. He was the one who financed
some of my finest acts. He‟s on
the level, and he will help us.
VIXEN
If you say so. Hey, if you trust
him, I‟ll trust him.
VIXEN
Pull over. The car should be
somewhere around here.
Viper pulls the U-Haul truck over to the side of the road
and both he and Vixen get out.
VIPER
(in awe)
Nice ride.
VIXEN
I figured we‟d need something fast
for our escape. Are you ready?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 18
VIPER
Not yet, we need to take care of
one more thing.
Viper walks back over to the front cab of the U-Haul truck
and opens the passenger side door. He takes a machine gun
out and approaches Vixen.
VIPER
Would you like to do the honors?
VIXEN
What do you mean?
VIPER
What do you think I mean? We
can‟t have any witnesses.
VIXEN
Yeah, but I thought we were just
going to leave them all locked
up in the back while we rode off
into the sunset?
VIPER
We can‟t do that. No survivors.
They‟re mercenaries, that‟s who
we hired. They‟ll do anything
for money…hence their name.
The second the cops find them
they‟re going to open their
mouths. That‟d fuck everything
up. We need to get to Miami
before anyone figures out
exactly what the hell happened
here. The last thing we need
is the cops closing down I-95
in both directions and launching
a nationwide manhunt before we
even get to my guy in Miami.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 19
VIXEN
(reluctantly)
OK, I understand. But you can
do the dirty work.
VIPER
That‟s fine by me.
He drops the gun and takes his time walking back to the
Lamborghini. Once there he gets into the driver‟s seat.
VIPER
Now we can go.
VIPER (cont‟d)
Shall we?
VIXEN
Let‟s go.
VIPER
It‟s been a while, let‟s see if
I remember how to drive one of
these things.
The car passes a sign along the side of the road that
reads: “Dade County - 350 miles”
The dark and musty gym is very old school and is for the
serious workout enthusiast and boxers-in-training.
The Ferrari roars into the parking lot and pulls right up
to the gym entrance, taking up two spots.
Magnum walks through the gym and over to the area that
Diesel is working out in.
MAGNUM
What‟s up player?
DIESEL
What‟s up Magnum?
MAGNUM
Chillin‟ bro.
DIESEL
Hey man, come over and help me
out here.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Gimme some support and hold this
while I take some punches.
MAGNUM
Alright, no problem.
MAGNUM
Hey Diesel, I got to tell you
something.
DIESEL
What is it?
MAGNUM
Viper escaped.
DIESEL
What?
(pause)
When? How?
MAGNUM
Yesterday, up around Jacksonville.
They were transporting him to federal
court. There was some kind of big
shoot out, they don‟t know exactly
what happened or how he escaped, but
he got away.
DIESEL
Are you kidding me?
MAGNUM
No.
DIESEL
God damn it! God damn it! That
fucking cocksucker!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 22
MAGNUM
Yeah, sorry man.
DIESEL
I can‟t believe he‟s out, roaming
the streets.
(pause)
I have to do something.
MAGNUM
Why don‟t you let the police
handle this? Well screw the
police; you know the FBI, the
CIA, the military and Interpol
are probably all on the case
by now. Why don‟t you let them
do their jobs and risk their
lives. I‟m sure they‟ll capture
him.
DIESEL
I can‟t sit idly by and do nothing,
besides I know things that the
feds don‟t about Viper. Remember
I worked in the same club as him.
I know his contacts and connections,
I know his potential hiding places;
I know everything about Viper.
MAGNUM
So why don‟t you just turn that
information over to the authorities?
DIESEL
Are you serious? The feds can
fuck up a cup of coffee. They
wouldn‟t know what to do with a
good tip if it came up and bit
them on their collective asses.
(pause)
No, I want to get him myself.
I want revenge. I want to punish
him for what he did. Besides, the
cops don‟t have the balls to pull
the trigger if they find him…I
do. It‟s payback time.
MAGNUM
Fair enough.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 23
DIESEL
I could really use your help.
It could get dangerous though.
(pause)
Are you in?
MAGNUM
You know I‟m always down with
helping you.
DIESEL
Thanks bro.
MAGNUM
I got to ask one thing though.
DIESEL
What‟s that?
MAGNUM
I need to know exactly what I‟m
getting myself into. Now I know
you know Viper and you‟ve worked
with him before and you had a big
falling out even before he became
recognized as this global terrorist.
But I only know the very basics.
(pause)
I need to know the whole story
between you and him. I think
I‟m owed that much if I‟m going
to get knee-deep into this shit;
the guy is a maniac.
DIESEL
We had much more than a falling
out, but OK, I‟ll give you the
background.
MAGNUM
Thanks, that‟s all I want.

So where exactly are we going?
VIPER
We‟re going to see one of my main
financiers, you know the guy I
was talking about the other day.
He has a house on Star Island.
He‟ll give us some money for
new clothes and a place to stay.
He should also be able to hook
us up with an exit strategy too.
Hopefully in a few days we‟ll
be living in obscurity, sunning
ourselves on a Greek island.
VIXEN
You think it‟ll be safe to go
over his place?
VIPER
Oh yeah, it should be fine. I
don‟t think the feds ever made
a connection between him and me.
Besides the local authorities,
hell even the feds too, probably
don‟t know I‟m free yet.
Everything will be ok.
Viper pulls up to a red light and admires all the hot women
walking along the sidewalk. He even lowers his sunglasses
at a point to get a better view.
VIPER (cont‟d)
God damn, I love this city.
Don‟t worry babe, we‟ll be there
in five minutes.

Thanks doll.
MONTY‟S WAITRESS
Do you guys need anything else
for now?
DIESEL
No, we‟re all set.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
It‟s a nice day on the water.
MAGNUM
It is.
MAGNUM
So Diesel? Tell me about Viper.
What‟s the beef?
Diesel looks away from the water and turns his attention to
Magnum, who‟s sitting across the table from him.
DIESEL
Viper…Viper. It‟s more than just
beef.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 27
MAGNUN
Well I figured that, so what is it,
why is it so personal? I mean,
granted, everyone in this country
would like to kick his ass and beat
the shit out of him. But it‟s
different with you, I can see it.
DIESEL
So years ago, before I even knew
you, I used to be the head bouncer
and part-time manager of that
mega-club Rage on Washington
Street, right?
MAGNUM
Yeah.
DIESEL
And Viper ran the club for a guy
named Mohammed; some shady Middle
East businessman who bought the
club to launder money.
MAGNUM
And you ended up knocking Viper
on his ass in a fight at the club.
DIESEL
That I did; right before I got
cold-cocked from behind and
knocked out. So you know why
I punched him?
MAGNUM
No, you never told me.
DIESEL
One night the bartenders were
running out of ten dollar bills
at the cash registers, so I ran
downstairs to the office, where
the safe was, to grab some more
money. When I got there I found
Viper on the phone; I never trusted
that prick, I always thought he
was off, so instead of just
interrupting his call, I decided
(MORE)

to hang back, hide out in the
corner and listen in to what he was
up to. I caught Viper talking to
someone about how he blew up the
Federal Courthouse in Ft. Lauderdale
the month before. A friend of
Mohammed‟s was scheduled to go
on trial a few weeks later on
drug trafficking and murder charges.
He was facing life in prison and
billions of dollars in fines, not
millions, billions. Viper blew
up that building. So I confronted
him right then and there, I punched
him; and then all of a sudden from
behind I got suckerpunched. I‟m
guessing it was one of Mohammed‟s
goons. I always thought Viper was
shady, but until that moment, I
had no idea that he was this
terrorist mastermind.
(pause)
Well, when I finally came to I
realized I was in the alley outside
the club. The next day I tried to
go into the club to see Mohammed,
I figured that Viper was on the
run by this time, but I wanted to
figure out what kind of involvement
Mohammed had in all of this.
Unfortunately, I only get ten feet
into the place before I‟m approached
by about eight guys, a few of them
who were my friends just 24 hours
before, who tell me that Mohammed
is not available. Then they proceed
to pick me up, rush me out of the
club and beat the shit out of me
in an alley before tossing me in
a dumpster like I was just another
piece of garbage.
MAGNUM
Wow.
DIESEL
So the reason why I was so pissed
at Viper for blowing up the
courthouse?
(pause)
My pregnant girlfriend worked as
a law clerk in the building.
MAGNUM
(shocked)
Really?
DIESEL
I had just found out the week
before she was pregnant. We had
been dating for over three years
at that point. I was picking her
up from work on a Friday. I was
going to take her to a nice, fancy
dinner on Las Olas that night to
propose to her. I even had the
ring in my pocket.
(pause)
She steps out of the building and
she sees me on the street hanging
out against my car. When she sees
me she gives me this big wave and
a huge smile covers her whole face.
It was so nice.
(pause)
Well all of a sudden, as soon as
she takes one step forward, BOOM!
A huge bomb goes off. The force
of the explosion blows me over
my car. I get up and see her
propelled into the air, she must
have gone up 15-20 feet high and
flew through the air maybe 30
yards or so. She landed right on
the hood of a car, half of her body
went through its windshield. I
tried to help her, I did everything
I could. But it wasn‟t enough.
She had shrapnel all in her back and
her neck and chest were all cut up
from the glass of the windshield.
She was already dead by the time I
got to her.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 30
MAGNUM
(shocked)
Holy shit Diesel, how come you
never told me this?
DIESEL
It‟s tough, it was tough to live
through and it‟s especially tough
to relive it.
MAGNUM
I can imagine.
DIESEL
Plus I didn‟t even know you at
that point of my life, so I didn‟t
want to bring any of that past
baggage into our friendship.
MAGNUM
Yeah but that‟s not even baggage
Diesel, that‟s your life, a big
part of your life.
DIESEL
I know. It hurts, I loved that
girl so much. I still do love
her very much. And that asshole
took it all away, in the blink of
an eye. That asshole.
(pause)
I never want to forget about her,
and I never will. It‟s just that
it‟s really tough to talk about
it. We were going to have a great
life together, I know we would‟ve.
MAGNUM
I understand, I mean talk about
bringing up bad memories.
DIESEL
That‟s why I‟m going to find this
guy and deliver my own brand of
justice; not just for me, not
just for Sarah, my dead girlfriend,
but for everyone else that was hurt
or affected by his senseless acts.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 31
MAGNUM
Diesel, I‟m here for you, You
can believe that, that‟s the truth.
We‟ll take this prick down together.
DIESEL
Good, let‟s get to work.
MAGNUM
What are we going to do first?
DIESEL
We‟re going to go to Star Island
and knock on Mohammed‟s front door.
VIXEN
We‟re gonna get caught. I can
feel it, we‟re gonna get caught.
VIPER
Just play it cool and we‟ll be
fine.
VIXEN
He‟s got a TV in there and I‟m
sure he‟s got a police scanner
too. We‟re so screwed.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 32
VIPER
Don‟t worry about it. Be cool.
We‟ll be alright. If worse comes
to worse, I‟ll put a bullet between
his eyes before he gets a chance
to figure out who we are.
SECURITY GUARD
Good afternoon, sir.
VIPER
Hey there, what‟s going on?
SECURITY GUARD
And who are you visiting today?
VIPER
Mr. Mohammed.
SECURITY GUARD
Is he expecting you?
VIPER
(smoothly)
Why yes he is.
SECURITY GUARD
Can I see your license so I can
check you in?
VIPER
Sorry, I don‟t have it on me.
SECURITY GUARD
(perplexed)
You don‟t have it on you?
VIPER
No.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 33
SECURITY GUARD
So does that mean you‟re currently
driving without a license?
VIPER
Hey, it‟s Miami. Me driving without
a license is the least of this
city‟s worries.
VIXEN
Here, take my ID. Is that ok?
The guard looks long and hard back and forth between the
license and Vixen and Viper.
SECURTIY GUARD
Ok, let me check you into the log.
Give me a second.
The guard walks back into the security house for a moment.
VIPER
That guy doesn‟t know how lucky
he is that you spoke up. I was
about to punch him right in the
throat if he questioned me anymore.
The guard comes back out and hands the license back to
Vixen. Although suspicious of the two, he ultimately lets
them go.
SECURITY GUARD
Ok, you can proceed. Do you know
where you‟re going?
Both Viper and Vixen get out of the car. They stand still
for a second in awe as they take in the enormous size of
the house. They slowly approach the front door.

That‟s correct.
FEMALE REPORTER #1

how he was able to escape?
POLICE CHIEF
I cannot comment on that at this

Next question.
MALE REPORTER #1
Did he have an accomplice or
accomplices who might have helped
him pull off this daring escape?
POLICE CHIEF
Although I can neither confirm nor
deny anyone else‟s potential
involvement in his escape plan, it‟s
hard to imagine that he was able to
pull this off alone. We are actively
searching for any and all accomplices
he might have, whether they be old
friends or maybe someone new he met
in prison.

Next question.
FEMALE REPORTER #2
Chief, if this whole escape was
hatched over 350 miles away up
in Jacksonville near the Georgia

all the way down here in Miami?
POLICE CHIEF
We have reason to believe that
Viper might have escaped down to
Miami already or that he might be
planning to come down here in the
very near future.
FEMALE REPORTER #2
And what gives you that idea? Do
you have specific intelligence
that leads you to this belief?
POLICE CHIEF
Once again, we can‟t get into
specifics; but Miami is a real

why we want all residents to remain

bonus.

I‟m not doing any of this for the
money though.
MAGNUM
Yeah, but at the same time, $25
million is a nice chunk of change.
DIESEL
You got that right. We split it
right down the middle; 50 / 50.
MAGNUM
(taken aback)
Wait, are you sure? I‟m willing
to give you a larger percentage,
this is your thing anyways.
DIESEL
It‟s our thing. I thank you for
the nice gesture; but we‟re in

entitled to half. Agreed?
MAGNUM
As long as you‟re sure about that,
you know I‟m cool with it.

DIESEL
Great, it‟s time to trek over to
Mohammed‟s.
MAGNUM
Diesel, why don‟t we just give the
cops Mohammed‟s info and tell them
about the link to Viper? That alone
could probably score us the $25
million and we could do it right
now.
DIESEL
True, but I want chance to confront
Viper in person before we collect.
If you‟re gonna go on this ride with
me, that‟s all I ask for. That you
allow me to find Viper before we
turn over any information to the
authorities.
MAGNUM
OK, Diesel, you know I‟m with you.
He‟s tall and slender, with slicked back black hair, and is
wearing a buttoned up shirt and nicely pressed slacks.
MR. MOHAMMED
Viper, what a surprise.
MR. MOHAMMED
How are you doing old friend? Were
you followed?
VIPER
No, we‟re cool.
MR. MOHAMMED

I‟m Vixen.
MR. MOHAMMED
You certainly are.

of the clock coverage of this breaking
news and will continue after this
short station break.
MR. MOHAMMED
You see, it‟s out now and you‟re
not safe. You‟re definitely not
safe here. The cops aren‟t that
dumb you know, they know who I am.
And while you and I have never been
formally linked together by the
authorities; I think they‟ve always
suspected a link. Once they get
their shit together and organize,
it‟s not going to take them long to
figure out that my house might be one
of the logical stops for you. And
even if they don‟t figure that out
they most likely will at least pay me
a visit just to keep the pressure on.
VIPER
I know, that‟s why we don‟t plan to
stay too long.
The butler comes back into the room and gives both Viper
and Vixen a glass of water.
VIXEN
Thanks.
VIPER
We came here because I thought you
could help me out of my predicament.
We‟ve done plenty of business in the
past without any problems and you‟ve
been someone I could trust.
MR. MOHAMMED
Yes, you‟ve certainly always earned
your paycheck and, on top of that,
I always knew you‟d do a great job.
I never had to worry about whether
or not you‟d execute a plan to
perfection.
VIPER
It was all about the money. Yours
was green and it was plentiful.
I‟m a terrorist for hire, that‟s
who I am. I don‟t regret anything
I‟ve done. I‟m just out to get
mine. I consider the killings a
bonus for me.
MR. MOHAMMED
You are ruthless, are you?
VIPER
I‟m just a man that likes what he
does.
MR. MOHAMMED
Well, I‟m just glad you‟re on my
side.
VIPER
With all due respect sir, I‟m not
on your side. I‟m on whichever
side pays well.
VIXEN
(perplexed)
So Mr. Mohammed, what do you do
for a living?
MR. MOHAMMED
You want the truth?
VIXEN
Yes.
VIPER
It‟s ok, she‟s cool; trust me.
MR. MOHAMMED
I‟m an oilman, I own several oil
fields in Saudi Arabia and a few
other Middle East countries, like
Yemen.
(pause)
I‟m also an operative for Al Qaeda,
one of the lead organizers for the
group in this country.
(pause)
Since visas, immigration, and just
traveling into this country has
become so difficult in the past
several years, I was charged by the
senior leadership in Pakistan to
find American-born citizens willing
to carry out terrorism on their own
home soil. It‟s been a tough task.
VIPER
Vixen, Mr. Mohammed doesn‟t need to
go any further.
MR. MOHAMMED
No, that‟s ok. A guest in my house
has all the right to get to know me.
(pause)
I‟ve hired your friend on several
occasions to carry out some of the
group‟s plots. It actually wasn‟t
as difficult as we thought it‟d be.
Viper was never really suspected
in any of the attacks, well that is
until he got caught on the last one;
then everything began to unravel.
But you‟re friend, he‟s a stand up
gentleman. He told the cops nothing

VIPER
Ok, that‟s enough.
VIPER (cont‟d)
So, can you help us?
MR. MOHAMMED
Lucky for you, I had a feeling you
would stop by at some point. When
I first heard you escaped the other
day, I put a plan into action.
VIPER
This is very kind of you to arrange.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 45
MR. MOHAMMED
It‟s the least I can do. Like I
said, you have about 24 hours until
your transportation arrives. Stay
invisible and you should have no
problem escaping.
VIXEN
(to Viper)
Well what do we do until then?
MR. MOHAMMED
As you can probably imagine, I can‟t
give you much help until the cargo
ship arrives. There‟s too much
heat on me, especially now that the
police chief just gave a big press
conference about a half an hour ago.
It‟s serious, I mean I even get this
living room swept for bugs every day.
(pause)
I‟m sure that the feds‟ attention
will be on me the next few days and
if I try any sort of interaction
with you, you might be compromised.
You should get out of here now.
VIPER
It‟s plenty. We can survive on our
own for the next two days.
MR. MOHAMMED
And one more thing…
(pause)
I‟d like you to take care of some-
thing while you‟re waiting around
for the ship.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 46
VIPER
It doesn‟t look like I have much
of a choice. I will do this for
you.
MR. MOHAMMED
Good. But watch out, this is very
dangerous and you‟re supposed to be
invisible. Proceed with extreme
caution.
VIPER
I will.
MR. MOHAMMED
Thank you.
MR. MOHAMMED
Viper, watch yourself out there.
Good luck.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 47
VIPER
Hopefully the next time you see
me, I won‟t be in handcuffs on
the eleven o‟clock news.
MR. MOHAMMED
You‟re too good to get caught a
second time.
(pause)
If all goes according to plan, I
won‟t be seeing you again. Once
you do that job for me you‟re to
proceed immediately to the ship
where your freedom awaits.
Diesel stops at a red light then turns onto the access road
that leads to Star Island.
SECURITY GUARD
Good day sir, how can I help you
today?
DIESEL
I‟m here to see Mr. Mohammed.
SECURITY GUARD
Quite a popular guy today. OK, can

DIESEL
That won‟t be necessary.
SECURITY GUARD
Well sir, I‟ll need your license;
it‟s procedure.
DIESEL
Actually I‟m going up to the house
to surprise Mr. Mohammed. It‟s his
birthday in a few days and we‟re
old friends; I haven‟t seen him in
years in fact, so I‟d rather you not
tip him off and ruin the surprise.
SECURITY GUARD
Sir, I can‟t let you go through.
MAGNUM
Oh boy, what are you thinking
Diesel?
Diesel quickly kicks the car into gear and peels out. He
drives right through the security guard gate and speeds
down the street.
MAGNUM
Let‟s not do anything too stupid.
DIESEL
Don‟t worry about me Magnum, I
just want to talk to him.
Diesel gets out of the car and puts his gun in his
waistband behind his back. Magnum gets out of the car
also.
DIESEL
Hey fellas, mind your own business;
I just want to talk to Mr. Mohammed.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Mr. Mohammed isn‟t even home right
now. Diesel, why don‟t you turn
around, walk back to your car and
get out of here.
(pause)
You do that, we‟ll forget that you
crashed through Mr. Mohammed‟s gate.
(pause)
If you don‟t, then we‟re going to
have problems.
DIESEL
Look guy, I just want to talk to
my old friend.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Don‟t take one more step Diesel.
DIESEL
Or what?
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Or we‟ll be forced to…
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 50
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(laughing)
Are you serious?
DIESEL
Dead serious.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Diesel, you have no escape. You
shoot me, my four men here will
annihilate you.
DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
That may be so, unless my boy over
here finishes them off before they
can even pull their triggers.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(laughing)
Really? And we should be afraid
of him? He doesn‟t even have a
gun.
DIESEL
You‟re right; he has a grenade in
his pocket. The slightest move by
my boy Magnum over here and it can
go off at any time.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
You‟re bluffing.
DIESEL
Maybe I am, maybe I‟m not.

DIESEL (cont‟d)
Go ahead, make your move.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Look, you‟re not getting in this
house, but also Mr. Mohammed means
you no harm. You turn around,
head back to your car and leave
peacefully and we‟ll all be cool.
DIESEL
I‟ll never be cool with Mohammed
or any one of his henchmen.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
That may be so, but we‟re giving
you a chance to live another day.
DIESEL
You tell Mohammed that if he hides
I will find him and if he runs I
will catch him.
(looks to Magnum)
Let‟s go.
Diesel slowly puts his gun back into his waistband and both
he and Magnum head back to the car.
The bodyguards stand their ground and watch Diesel back his
car out down the driveway.
MR. MOHAMMED
What was all the commotion out
there?
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Diesel showed up.
MR. MOHAMMED
(calmly)
Really?
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Yes, and he had a message for you.
MR. MOHAMMED
(smoothly)
I can‟t wait to hear this.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
He said he‟s going to eventually
find you if you run or hide from
him.
MR. MOHAMMED
Oh, I bet he will.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
What would you like me to do?
MR. MOHAMMED
Nothing.

MR. MOHAMMED

VIPER
Go in and get a room, I‟ll park the
car. Call when everything is set;
I‟ll come up and meet you at the
room.
VIXEN
OK.
Vixen opens the door and takes a step out of the car before
Viper stops her.
VIPER
Hey, give me a kiss first.
VIPER (cont‟d)
Be careful. The first sign of
trouble, get out of there and call
me.
VIXEN
I know what to do, I can take care
of myself.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 54
VIPER
I know you can babe, I just get
worried for you.
VIXEN
Well don‟t.
Vixen gets out of the car and closes the door behind her.
Viper peels out down the street.
Viper opens the door and enters the opulent suite. Vixen
immediately runs over to him and jumps into his arms.
VIPER
The penthouse suite! Very nice.
VIXEN
Nothing but the best for us honey.
VIPER
I like your style.
VIXEN
There‟s Italian marble everywhere,
we have a huge tub in the bathroom.
There‟s also a private terrace that
overlooks the ocean.
VIPER
Excellent.
VIXEN
So, baby I was hoping maybe we could
take a walk along the beach? It‟s
an absolutely beautiful day out, the
sun is going down. I think it‟d be
cool to take a walk at sunset along
the coastline.
VIPER
Sure, anything for you babe. Let
me refresh myself then we can go
down to the beach.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 55
Viper and Vixen walk out of the hotel and along the large
pool which is lined by numerous private, luxurious cabanas.
VIXEN
This place is so gorgeous. It‟s
like paradise.
VIPER
It is.
They look into one cabana where two beautiful young ladies
are hanging out with a middle-aged man.
One of the ladies is feeding him grapes while the other one
is gently massaging his back.
VIPER
It‟s amazing what money can buy
you. Truly amazing.
VIXEN
I know, lucky him.
VIPER
All in good time baby, all in good
time.
VIXEN
So you work for Al Qaeda?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 56
VIPER
No I don‟t, well indirectly I guess.
But I really wouldn‟t say I work for
them.
VIPER (cont‟d)
Come on, you‟ve known who I am for
a long time, you know I‟m a damn
mercenary. What‟d you think, in
this line of work I‟d just be
working for saints? These are bad
people I deal with.
VIXEN
Yeah, but Al Qaeda? They are worse
than bad people.
(pause)
You know, my aunt died on 9/11. She
was on the American Airlines flight
that crashed into the Pentagon. She
was just minding her own business,
taking a flight from Washington to
Los Angeles to visit family members,
and then all of a sudden, boom, her
flight was highjacked and then a
short time later she was gone.
For no good reason she was dead.
VIPER
I‟m sorry that you lost a loved one,
but then again there are people losing
loved ones all around the world for
no good reason, so why should the
United States be any different? Why
should the people in this country
be immune to the fate that millions
of people face in all these third
world countries?
VIXEN
I don‟t know what that guy scribbled
on that piece of paper, I‟m guessing
he wants you to do something big.
I don‟t think you should do it, you
should tell him to go fuck himself.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 57
VIPER
I can‟t do that, he‟s our ticket out
of here, our ticket to a better life.
He‟s going to give us our freedom.
You do want to get out of here,
right? Spend your days on a beach,
sipping margaritas, in a country
with no extradition?
VIXEN
At what cost though? I don‟t know.
(pause)
What did that piece of paper say
anyways?
VIPER
I shouldn‟t tell you. It‟s none
of your concern.
VIXEN
Then it must be something big.
VIPER
Vixen, there are some things I
shouldn‟t tell you about my life,
hell you probably already know too
much; and this is one of them.
VIXEN
Yeah but I thought we were in this
together; so don‟t I have the right
to know everything?
VIPER
If you don‟t want to be a part of
this, you can leave at any time.
VIXEN
(dramatic pause)
No, I‟m with you. It‟s not like I
have a lot of options here.
VIPER
Good.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 58
VIXEN
But don‟t expect me to agree with
everything you do.
VIPER
Fine, I can live with that.
VIXEN
So, what‟s next on the plan.
VIPER
We have $10,000 to our names, what
do you want to do?
VIXEN
Well, we don‟t technically have
$10,000 anymore. The suite at the
Delano is costing us $2,000 a night,
so we have about $6,000 left.
VIPER
OK, I think that calls for one serious
night out on the town tonight.
VIXEN
You think that‟ll be safe?
VIPER
Sure. It‟ll be nighttime; which
means it‟ll be dark; which means I‟ll
just blend in with every other guy
out.
VIXEN
OK, I‟m exhausted, why don‟t we go
back to the hotel for a nap. When we
get back I‟ll ask the concierge for
restaurant recommendations.
VIPER
Remember, nothing but the best for
you baby.
Viper reaches into his back pocket, pulls out the note that
Mr. Mohammed gave him and reads it under the moonlight.
Viper studies the note then puts it back into his back
pocket.
VIXEN
(smiles)
Hey baby.
VIPER
Hey honey.
Viper walks over to the bed and sits on the edge. He runs
his fingers through her hair.
VIPER (cont‟d)
Come on, get up; let‟s go to dinner.
Diesel and Magnum get out of the car and gather on the
sidewalk.
MAGNUM
I hope you have a better plan for
Rage than you did for Mohammed‟s
house?
DIESEL
I wish I could say I did, but I‟m
really just making this up as I go
along.
MAGNUM
(rolls his eyes)
Oh great.
DIESEL
Let‟s go.
Diesel and Magnum walk into the club, passing right by the
line of about a hundred trendy, young guys and ladies
waiting to get in.
Diesel and Magnum enter a huge open space with packed club-
goers dancing and grinding to heavy house and hip-hop
music.
TRICK DADDY
Miami, what it is?!?! Give it up.
The crowd goes wild and Trick starts performing one of his
popular hits.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 61
MAGNUM
So what are you going to do if
you find Mohammed or Viper here?
Beat the shit out of them right
in the middle of the club?
DIESEL
Yeah I thought about it.
(pause)
Let‟s scout out the place.
Diesel hits Magnum to get his attention and points into the
direction of the other side of the club.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Magnum, why don‟t you check out
that side? I‟m going to go over
to the stairway where the offices
are.
MAGNUM
OK.
CLUB MANAGER
No, no, no, get the fuck out of
here Diesel. Fuck you.
TRICK DADDY
Yo man, fuck this shit. I‟m out.
MAGNUM
Nice going Diesel.
DIESEL
Hey man, I told you right up front
that I didn‟t have a plan.
MAGNUM
Well that‟s pretty obvious now.
DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
At any point if you want to start
carrying your own weight, I‟d
appreciate it.
MAGNUM
I‟m trying my best but it‟s kind
of hard when you have six goons
all over your shit.
MAGNUM
Let‟s get the fuck out of here
before they kill us.
They both get in the car, Diesel peels out and speeds down
Washington Avenue.
MAGNUM
We‟re kinda batting 0 for 2 now,
aren‟t we?
DIESEL
Yeah but if we go 1 for 3, that‟s
Hall of Fame numbers in baseball.
MAGNUM
So what are we going to do now?
DIESEL
I have an idea.
MAGNUM
What‟s that?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 64
DIESEL
Viper loves strip clubs.
MAGNUM
Well who doesn‟t?
DIESEL
No, he LOVES strip clubs. More so
than any other guy I‟ve ever met.
He‟s a real degenerate that way.
MAGNUM
OK, but there are like a hundred
strip joints in the greater Miami
area, how do we know which one he
might be at?
DIESEL
I know his favorite place; that‟s
where we‟re going.
VIXEN
This steak is succulent, and the
wine is out of this world.
VIPER
I‟m glad you like everything.
VIXEN
It‟s perfect.
VIXEN (cont‟d)
I want you Viper! Let‟s go party.
VIPER
You want to?
VIXEN
Yeah, let‟s rock the city tonight.
VIPER
OK, I got a great place in mind,
you‟ll have fun.
VIPER (cont‟d)
Pay the bill.
Vixen walks back to her seat, grabs her purse, takes out
some money and throws it down on the table.
VIXEN
Let‟s go honey.
VIPER
I love you babe.
VIXEN
I love you too.
The cars are a mix of new luxury autos like Lexuses and
Range Rovers and old school rides like candy-colored 1964
Chevy Impalas.
VIXEN
Thanks. Keep the change.
VIPER
Vixen, reach into your purse and
grab me a thousand dollars or so.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 67
VIXEN
Why?
VIPER
Because I‟m going to make it rain
up in this bitch!
VIXEN
Seriously?
VIPER
Yeah, seriously!
VIXEN
Is that the smartest thing to do
with our limited resources?
VIPER
Who fucking cares? I‟m Viper
god damn it! I want to have
fun! If I want to make it rain
then damn it I‟m going to make
it rain!
VIXEN
I don‟t know.
VIPER
It‟s my money, give it to me.
VIXEN
Fine.
Vixen reaches into her purse, takes money out and gives it
to Viper.
VIPER
I‟d like to exchange this for
small bills, very small bills.
Can you do that?
VIPER
Thank you. There you go.
VIPER
Now leave us.
Viper gets more into the stripper‟s dancing and the music.
VIPER
There you go honey, work it!
Vixen forcefully grabs Viper and makes out with him. After
they kiss, Viper turns his attention back to the stripper
dancing.
VIPER
Keep going girl!
VIPER (cont‟d)
Keep doing what you‟re doing and
there‟ll be more of this coming
your way.
After a little while the song ends and the stripper looks
at Viper to get his approval.
VIPER (cont‟d)
Yeah honey, you were good, you
were damn good. That money‟s all
yours.
VIXEN
(annoyed)
I hope that was worth it.
VIPER
(laughs)
Oh come on, it‟s only money.
VIXEN
Yeah, it‟s not like we have a lot
of it.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 70
VIPER
Please, we‟re only a few days away
from collecting a huge pay day.
VIXEN
How so?
VIPER
That little favor I‟m doing for Mr.
Mohammed? Don‟t worry, not only is
he setting us up with passage out
of the country, but once we land in
Europe he‟s transferring some serious
funds into a secret account for us
so that we can live comfortably.
VIXEN
How can you be so sure he‟s actually
going to do that?
VIPER
Don‟t worry, he‟ll do it. He‟ll
never dick me over, I have too
much info on him.
DESIREE
Hey sugar, what‟s your name?
VIPER
I‟m Phillip. And you are?
DESIREE
I‟m Desiree.
(looking at Vixen)
Oh Phil, is this your girlfriend?
VIPER
She most certainly is.
DESIREE
Mmmm, she‟s hot.
VIPER
Thank you, she is.
DESIREE
(looking at Vixen)
Hey honey, you mind if I dance
for your handsome boyfriend over
here?
VIXEN
(looking at Viper)
No go ahead.
DESIREE
(looking at Viper)
So hot stuff? You want a dance?
VIPER
(smiles)
Well, how can I say no?
About half way through the dance, Vixen has finally had
enough. She stands up and pushes the stripper off of
Diesel and to the ground.
VIXEN
Move it sister! You don‟t know
how to give a good fucking lap
dance; that isn‟t how...
VIXEN (cont‟d)
This is how.
VIPER
Get away pal, everything‟s all good.
Vixen starts getting really into the dance; she pulls the
top of her dress down to her waist, revealing a sexy black,
lace bra. Then she starts rubbing her breasts on the
outside of her bra.
Diesel‟s blue Lotus pulls into the parking lot, both him
and Magnum exit the vehicle.
MAGNUM
Gold Rush? Viper‟s favorite place
is Gold Rush?
DIESEL
Oh yeah.
MAGNUM
I would‟ve never guessed.
DIESEL
Yeah, like I said, a real degenerate.
MAGNUM
Degenerate? What are you talking
about? Who knew he had this much
taste?
DIESEL
To each his own, I guess.
Diesel and Magnum walk to the front entrance where they are
greeted by a very large bouncer. The bouncer pats Diesel
down and quickly finds the gun on him.
DIESEL
Cool, I gotcha.
(looks at Magnum)
Yo, Magnum you mind throwing this
back into the glove compartment?
MAGNUM
No problem.
DIESEL
No problem.
DIESEL
I don‟t think I‟d be surprised
actually.

Diesel! I should‟ve known you‟d
crawl out from under your rock.
Magnum finally gets into the club; seeing all the commotion
he rushes over to Diesel.
MAGNUM
What‟s up Diesel?
DIESEL
Viper‟s here!
MAGNUM
Oh shit!
Viper shoots and kills the bouncer and then notices that he
accidentally shot Vixen. After that he puts the gun in his
waistband and runs out of the room.
MAGNUM
Diesel!
DIESEL
Go! Go get the car! Drive up
to the front. We‟re going to
get the bastard tonight!
MAGNUM
OK, be careful.
DIESEL
You too buddy.
DIESEL
Jesus Christ! If I didn‟t duck
you wouldn‟t have gotten hit.
I‟m sorry.
VIXEN
(weakly)
I‟m sorry. I‟m so sorry for
everything that Viper and I did.
DIESEL
(whispers to himself)
Another senseless death.
Diesel comes out in the crowd and looks around for a moment
until he finds his car. He sees it, runs to the driver‟s
seat and opens the door.
DIESEL
Get out Magnum!
MAGNUM
I‟ll drive.
DIESEL
There‟s a good chance we‟re going
to seriously fuck up this car
tonight; and if we‟re going to ruin
my baby Lotus, then I want it to
be my fault. I don‟t know if I
could ever forgive you if you did
it.
DIESEL
Please tell me you saw where Viper
went?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 78
MAGNUM
Yeah, he just peeled out of the
parking lot like 30 seconds ago.
(points to a road in
the distance off of
the parking lot)
He went that way in a yellow
Lamborghini.
DIESEL
Strap yourself in Magnum, we‟re
going to push this baby to the
limit.
Diesel plays around with his car stereo and pops in a CD.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
This calls for some mood music.
Diesel peels out and speeds out of the parking lot; dodging
patrons in the process.
DIESEL
There he is, that cocksucker!

They both weave around cars for two blocks before Viper
takes a sharp turn onto
With the cars facing each other, Diesel can look right into
Viper‟s eyes. He stares him down for a good five seconds.
MAGNUM
This is fucking unreal!
DIESEL
He‟s good…
DIESEL (cont‟d)
…But I‟m better.
VIPER
So, you want to play like this
huh, jerkoff?
MAGNUM
Damn! We lost him!
DIESEL
We didn‟t lose him yet.
He turns around and goes up the same side street that Viper
went up, but by this point Viper is comfortably in front of
him.
BRICKELL AVENUE

Viper looks into his rear view mirror and all of a sudden,
in his mirror, he sees Diesel‟s blue Lotus in the distance
speed onto Brickell Avenue from a side street.
VIPER
Fucking guy!
VIPER
Hey Diesel, fuck you!
Viper then pulls out his gun and fires two gunshots in the
direction of Diesel‟s car.
BRICKELL AVENUE
MAGNUM
Jesus, he almost killed us.
DIESEL
Yeah, I guess I should‟ve remembered
he had that gun. Oops.

MAGNUM
Some times you can be such an
asshole.
DIESEL
Only some times? Gee Magnum, I
didn‟t know you thought so highly
of me.
MAGNUM
I don‟t.
(points at Viper‟s car)
Diesel, don‟t lose Viper; there
he is.
DIESEL
I see him, I see him.
FLAGLER STREET
DIESEL

OK, Flagler Street…business district,
no pedestrians, very few cars on
the road.

Magnum, get my gun out. See if you
can get a few shots off.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Hold it. Play it on the safe side;
just go for the tires. That way
if you miss, you‟ll only hit the
pavement and that‟s it.
MAGNUM
You think I‟ll miss? Come on, have
more faith than that.
DIESEL
I‟m not saying I think you‟ll miss
I‟m just saying that I already have
that chick‟s death from the strip
club on my conscious already. I
think one death is enough for one
day.
Magnum leans out of the window and takes a shot at the back
right tire of Viper but he misses.
MAGNUM
Fuck, I missed!
DIESEL
Well don‟t give up! Quitters never
win.
MAGNUM
(frustrated)
Fuck!
MAGNUM
Son of a bitch!
MAGNUM
I‟m out of ammo.
DIESEL
Check the glove compartment, there
might be another clip.
MAGNUM
Nothing.
DIESEL
Damn. OK, looks like we‟ll have to
settle this the old fashioned way…
with our fists.
MAGNUM
And your ridiculously suped up one-
hundred thousand dollar Lotus,
don‟t forget about that too.
DIESEL
Well yeah, that too.
BISCAYNE BOULEVARD
Viper and Diesel both speed past the high rises that line
Biscayne Boulevard, MacArthur Causeway is in the
background.
MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY
The two speed towards the South Beach exit and quickly find
themselves on
OCEAN DRIVE
DIESEL
I‟m going to get out right here
and just kick his ass in the middle
of Ocean Drive.
ON THE BEACH
Viper drives right onto the actual beach and peels out in
the sand.
MAGNUM
(shocked)
You got to be fucking kidding me!?!
DIESEL
Buckle up again, looks like we‟re
going to the beach.
Diesel drives off the road and enters the beach as well to
follow Viper.
Viper and Diesel drive wildly across the beach, both having
some problems navigating through the terrain. In the
process they‟re ripping up the beach.
MAGNUM
Well if this finally doesn‟t get
the attention of the cops, I don‟t
know what will.
After about a mile or so, Viper takes a hard turn away from
the water, jumps over a dune and lands back onto a street
with Diesel following not too far behind.
COLLINS AVENUE
DIESEL
Well, you‟re right, we have company.
Magnum looks behind him and sees the cops gaining on them.
MAGNUM
Ohhh shit! Diesel, I‟m way too
pretty to go to jail.
DIESEL
Relax, you‟re not going to jail.
They‟re not going to catch us.
MAGNUM
Why don‟t we just stop right now
and tell the cops that that‟s
Viper?
DIESEL
What did I tell you? The only
thing I asked of you is that I
get first crack at him.
(pause)
Besides, if we haven‟t been able
to catch Viper yet I don‟t have
high hopes that the cops can catch
him either.
(pause)
No, we‟re going to do it; we‟re
going to catch him ourselves.
LINCOLN ROAD
ALTON ROAD
Viper cruises down the street for a while with Diesel and
several police cars still in tow.
MAGNUM
What do you think he‟s going to do?
DIESEL
(shakes head)
I don‟t know, but all bets are off.
MAGNUM
Well, he better figure out something
soon; the cops are here.
Viper looks in his rear view mirror and sees the cops
beginning to slowly get out of their cars and approach
Viper and Diesel‟s cars.
DIESEL
Well Magnum, we‟re all gonna die
of something; it might as well be
for something as noble as catching
a bad guy.
MAGNUM
Amen.
(pause)
Lord, please be on our side in this
current endeavor.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 89
The car then veers to the right and crashes into the other
railing. Diesel‟s car slides down the rest of the bridge
and comes to a screeching halt at the base.
DIESEL
God damn, fucking shit!
Both sides of the car are all banged up and damaged across
the length of the body. The front is dented in severely.
MAGNUM
Shit man, your car is all fucked
up.
DIESEL
God damn it, I liked my Lotus.
MAGNUM
You think it‟s still drivable?
DIESEL
I don‟t know, let‟s see. We‟ll
have to get out of here somehow
before that drawbridge comes back
down and the cops come.
Diesel and Magnum get back into the car. Diesel starts the
engine and he begins to drive his banged up car slowly down
a dirt road that parallels the river.
MAGNUM
What are we going to do now?
DIESEL
I don‟t know, but I don‟t think
my baby‟s going to make it.
MAGNUM
So what are we going to do?
Diesel looks around and notices that they have driven far
enough away that the cops are no longer in sight.
DIESEL
Well, we‟re away from the cops now.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
We‟re going to have to ditch the
car.
(pause)
No other option.
Diesel and Magnum get out of the car again. Diesel stares
at his car contemplating his next move.
MAGNUM
So what are we going to do? We
can‟t just leave the car here,
the cops will find it, which means
they‟ll find you.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 91
DIESEL
That‟s right.
MAGNUM
So what are we going to do?
DIESEL
It‟ll be just a matter of time for
the cops to identify us, well at
least me, so we‟ll need to buy some
time.
MAGNUM
How are we going to do that?
Diesel looks at the river, then looks at the car, then back
at the river.
DIESEL
We‟re going to drown my baby.
MAGNUM
(shocked)
What?
DIESEL
It‟s our best option. We sink the
Lotus and it‟ll take the cops a few
days to find it and get it up. By
then hopefully we‟ll have caught
Viper, and at that point the cops
won‟t care about us anymore.
MAGNUM
Are you sure you want to do this?
DIESEL
No, but like I said, it‟s our best
option.
MAGNUM
Ohhkkaayy, it‟s you car.
DIESEL
I‟m doing it. Stay here.
DIESEL
Good bye, my friend. It was nice
riding with you.
At the last moment, Diesel opens his door and jumps out as
the car drives right into the river.
Diesel rolls across the dirt road and comes to a stop right
in front of Magnum.
The Lotus makes it about 10-20 feet into the river and
begins to sink slowly.
Magnum grabs Diesel‟s arm and helps him stand up. Diesel
pats himself down to get the dirt off of him.
MAGNUM
Well that was pretty crazy.
DIESEL
Thank you.
MAGNUM
OK, so let me ask for a fifth time,
what are we going to do now?
DIESEL
I don‟t know, remember I‟m making
this up as we go along.
(pause)
One thing‟s for sure. We‟re going
to use your Ferrari tomorrow.
MAGNUM
(sarcastically)
Ohhh, great.
Diesel grabs Magnum‟s arm and begins to walk down the dirt
road.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 93
DIESEL
Come on, let‟s walk.
MAGNUM
It‟s a hike back to the Beach though.
DIESEL
We can both use the exercise.
MAGNUM
Fine.
DIESEL
I think we‟ve caused enough damage
for today. Let‟s meet tomorrow
morning at the 9th Street Diner;
eight o‟clock sharp. We‟ll devise
a new game plan then.
MAGNUM
Sounds good.
(pause)
We‟ll get him Diesel, we‟ll get him.
DIESEL
I know.
Viper gets out of his car and walks up to the pay phone.
He takes the piece of paper that Mohammed gave him out of
his back pocket.
MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah, this is Mr. X.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 94
VIPER
Mr. X? Huh, cute; very original.
MR. X (O.S.)
And who the fuck is this?
VIPER
I‟m the guy willing to help you
out so cut the questions. Your
boss Mr. Mohammed said you have
a package for me.
MR. X (O.S.)
Ahh yes, yes I do.
VIPER
OK, so how do I take possession of
this?
MR. X (O.S.)
Meet me at…
VIPER
(interrupts)
I‟m not meeting you, or any of your
henchmen, anywhere. I just spent
the last hour of my life getting
chased by cops all over this damn
city. How do I know this isn‟t a
set-up?
MR. X (O.S.)
Because this was organized by Mr.
Mohammed personally. Surely you
can trust Mr. Mohammed after all
the things you‟ve been through
with him.
VIPER
At this point, I trust no one.
MR. X (O.S.)
OK then, how do you want to do
it.
VIPER
You‟re in Miami, right?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 95
MR. X (O.S.)
Yes, I‟m downtown.
VIPER
OK, I‟ll call this number again
in five hours with a location to
meet me. You‟ll have 15 minutes
to get there. You got that?
MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.
VIPER
Good.
Viper hangs up the phone, gets back in his car and drives
away.
FLASHBACK
Diesel puts the car in park then reaches into the glove
compartment and takes out a Tiffany blue box.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 96
SARAH (O.S.)
Hey baby.
DIESEL
Hey Sarah.
SARAH (O.S.)
How are you doing?
DIESEL
I‟m good, how are you feeling today?
SARAH (O.S.)
I feel great!
DIESEL
And how‟s our little guy doing?
SARAH (O.S.)
He‟s good too.
DIESEL
So, I‟m here outside so whenever
you‟re ready.
SARAH (O.S.)
OK, great. I‟m finishing off one
last thing, then I‟ll be out in
a couple of minutes.
DIESEL
Good, I‟ll see you soon.
SARAH (O.S.)
I love you.
DIESEL
Love you too.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 97
DIESEL
Yes, I‟d like to confirm a
reservation for two tonight at
8p under Mr. Diesel.
DIESEL
Excellent, tonight will be a
very special night for us and I
want to make sure my girlfriend
is taken care of. I‟d like the
sommelier to pick out a couple
of very special, celebratory
bottles of wines for us.
DIESEL
Thanks.
As Sarah takes her first step onto the staircase that leads
to the street below, a huge explosion goes off inside the
building.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 98
DIESEL
No, no, no. No, baby hold on.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Jesus Christ!
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Hang in there!
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Don‟t die on me Sarah! Come on,
don‟t die on me!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 99
FLASHBACK ENDS
Diesel walks into the diner and joins Magnum at the table.
MAGNUM
Diesel, what‟s up playa?
DIESEL
Hangin‟ in there.
DIESEL
I‟ll take some scrambled eggs and
a V-8 juice please.
MAGNUM
How‟d you sleep?
DIESEL
Not good. You?
MAGNUM
Yeah, same here.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 100
DIESEL
I think I slept for an hour then
I headed out for a calming walk
along the beach.
MAGNUM
Yeah, I got home then just popped
Bad Boys II into the DVD.
DIESEL
Get any good ideas for today from
that?
MAGNUM
(laughs)
No, not really.
DIESEL
Damn.
MAGNUM
So, a different day but the same
question remains. What are we
going to do?
DIESEL
I think the key is Mr. Mohammed.
We get to him, we get to Viper.
MAGNUM
Great, how do we get to Mohammed
though?
DIESEL
We go back to his house.
MAGNUM
Really? You remember that didn‟t
work out the first time. I hope
you remember that because it was
only yesterday that happened.
DIESEL
I know. But we‟ll have a different
plan this time around.
MAGNUM
What‟s that going to be.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 101
DIESEL
We‟re not going to take no for
an answer.
MAGNUM
OK, but how are we going to get
by his legions of bodyguards?
DIESEL
Well, attacking by land didn‟t
work…
MAGNUM
(interrupts)
It definitely didn‟t.
DIESEL
(continues)
…So this time, we‟re going to attack
from the sea.
MAGNUM
This idea might be crazy enough to
work.
DIESEL
I hope it does because I‟m running
out of ideas.
(pause)
Check out the guns and make sure
they‟re fully loaded.
MAGNUM
No problem.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 102
MAGNUM
There it is, there is Star Island.
DIESEL
I see it.
LIVING ROOM
The two enter the house and proceed carefully through the
room.
A HALLWAY
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 103
DIESEL
You hold down the fort here. I‟m
going upstairs. I have a feeling
I know where he is.
MAGNUM
OK, hurry up though, who knows what
kind of security detail Mohammed
has here.
MOHAMMED‟S OFFICE
All of a sudden, Diesel kicks open the door and runs in.
MR. MOHAMMED
(surprised)
Diesel, you never give up, do you?
DIESEL
With scum like you roaming the
streets? Absolutely not.
(pause)
Get up.
MR. MOHAMMED
OK, ok.
DIESEL
Let‟s get the hell out of here.
LIVING ROOM
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(yells)
Freeze right there assholes!
DIESEL
I‟ll blow his motherfucking head
off right now if you do anything
stupid.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
Yeah? And I‟ll…
DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
I didn‟t feel like going through
the same bullshit again with this
prick. Once was enough.
MAGNUM
(shocked)
You shot him!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 105
DIESEL
In the leg; he‟ll be alright.
MOHAMMED‟S BODYGUARD
(crying out in pain)
You shot me! You fucking asshole,
you shot me!
DIESEL
Come on, let‟s go.
DIESEL
(stares at Mohammed)
Magnum I‟m going up to start the
boat and get us the hell out of
here.
(pause)
He moves one inch I want you to
put one in his shoulder, he
moves again I want you to put
one in his kneecap…and one in
the other kneecap.
MAGNUM
With pleasure.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 106
Once they‟re away from Mohammed‟s house and well into the
Bay, Diesel climbs back down the ladder and approaches
Mohammed.
DIESEL
I just want to know one thing,
where can I find Viper?
MR. MOHAMMED
I don‟t know.
Diesel takes the gun from Magnum and hits Mohammed across
the face with it.
DIESEL
Wrong answer asshole.
DIESEL
I‟ll ask again, where is Viper?
MR. MOHAMMED
I…don‟t…know!
DIESEL
OK, well where is he going? What
is he planning to do?
MR. MOHAMMED
I know none of the answers to your
questions Diesel.
Diesel hits Mohammed again across the face with his gun.
MR. MOHAMMED
(yells)
What do you want from me?
DIESEL
The truth jerkoff!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 107
MR. MOHAMMED
I don‟t know anything! I haven‟t
seen Viper in over a year, maybe
even two!
(pause)
You think he‟d seriously come to
see me after breaking out of
prison? I have too much heat on
me. He‟d be an idiot to do that!
DIESEL
(thinking)
I don‟t believe you.
MR. MOHAMMED
(yells)
It‟s the truth though!
MAGNUM
(whispers)
I don‟t think he‟s going to talk.
DIESEL
(staring at Mohammed)
Oh he will, we just have to find
a way to properly persuade him.
Diesel looks around the deck of the boat and sees a rope in
one corner and then a bucket full of chum in another
corner.
DIESEL
So Mr. Mohammed, were you planning
to go fishing today?
MR. MOHAMMED
(perplexed)
Yes.
DIESEL
What were you going fishing for?
MR. MOHAMMED
Dolphin fish, marlins, blacktip,
tiger sharks and whatever other
sharks might be lurking in the
waters today.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 108
DIESEL
Interesting, OK.
DIESEL
I have a plan. Go tie Mohammed‟s
hands with that rope.
Magnum grabs the rope and ties Mohammed‟s hands behind his
back.
MR. MOHAMMED
(nervously)
What, what, what are you doing?
DIESEL
Well if you‟re not going to tell
us anything, you‟re of no use to
us. But luckily we racked our
brains and have figured out what
we can use you for…live bait.
MR. MOHAMMED
(confused)
What?
Later, as the boat is far out in the deep sea and Mr.
Mohammed finally awakes, he sees Diesel and Magnum covering
him in chum.
DIESEL
Stand him up Magnum.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Let‟s get the life jacket on him.
MR. MOHAMMED
(yells)
What are you doing?
DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
Can you grab the chum bucket?
DIESEL
That should just about do it.
(pause)
Magnum, go ahead and untie him.
Diesel and Magnum kneel down at the edge of the boat close
to Mohammed.
MAGNUM
Hey Diesel, I hear these are some
very shark infested waters around
here, right?
DIESEL
Yes, yes it is.
MAGNUM
What lives in these waters? Tigers
and Bulls right?
DIESEL
Oh yeah, plenty of them; in fact
there‟s probably hundreds swimming
below us right now.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 110
MAGNUM
And don‟t those sharks have something
in common?
DIESEL
They do Magnum. They‟re two of the
three most dangerous sharks in the
world to humans, outside of the Great
White of course.
MAGNUM
Damn, so that chum that he‟s got
all over him probably doesn‟t
help.
DIESEL
Nope, in fact he probably has about
twenty minutes before sharks start
circling.
MAGNUM
Oh well will you look at that.
There‟s a piece of chum that we
haven‟t thrown into the ocean yet.
MR. MOHAMMED
OK, ok, I‟ll tell you anything you
want to know.
DIESEL
I knew we could persuade you.
Diesel and Magnum reach down and grab Mr. Mohammed. They
pull him over to the boat but they don‟t bring him up to
the deck; they let him hang on to the outside of it.
MR. MOHAMMED
Come on, let me up!
DIESEL
Tell us what you know first.
MR. MOHAMMED
OK, OK.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 111
DIESEL
Let‟s hear it.
MR. MOHAMMED
Viper is planting a bomb this
afternoon at the American Airlines
Arena for Game 6 of the NBA Finals,
then he‟s scheduled to escape through
the Port of Miami on an Algerian
cargo ship.
DIESEL
Fucking asshole.
DIESEL
(looks at Magnum)
Let‟s go Magnum. Go up and take
the wheel.
MAGNUM
Sure thing.
MR. MOHAMMED
What, what? You said you‟d let me
up if I talked.
DIESEL
Actually I never said that. Sorry.
(pause)
But I‟ll tell you what; I‟m a decent
man and am willing to help you out.
Magnum starts the engine and the boat slowly pulls away
from Mohammed.
DIESEL
I‟ll call the Coast Guard right now
and give them your exact position.
They should be here to pick you up
in about a half an hour, assuming
you can hang on that long. Oh and
while I‟m calling the Coast Guard
(MORE)
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 112
DIESEL (cont‟d)
I‟ll also make sure to tell them
about your role in the bomb plot.
(pause)
No need to thank me.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
So long douchebag.
Mr. Mohammed screams wildly and flails his arms as the boat
speeds off away from him.
DIESEL
We need to get back to land as soon
as possible and stop Viper.
MAGNUM
I know, we‟re going as fast as we
can; we‟re at full throttle.
DIESEL
Go faster.
Viper is driving down I-95 when he takes out his cell phone
and dials Mr. X.
MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah.
VIPER
Meet me in 15 minutes at Bayfront
Park. I‟ll call you in 15 minutes
with exact location. Got me?
MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.
VIPER
15 minutes. You think you can make
that?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 113
MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.
VIPER
Good.
Viper hangs up his cell phone and speeds down the highway.
THE DOCK
DIESEL
We‟ll let the Coast Guard know
later that we were nice enough to
park Mohammed‟s boat at the marina
here. But first things first.
MAGNUM
Yeah, let‟s get Viper.
DIESEL
Onto the American Airlines Arena.
MAGNUM
This could be like finding a needle
in a haystack.
DIESEL
I know. We‟ll get the authorities
involved to American Airlines to
help look for the bomb. I promise.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
I don‟t care if this is your car,
but I‟m driving.
MAGNUM
You‟re kidding me right? This is
my baby.
DIESEL
Yeah, but you also drive like a
bitch.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 114
MAGNUM
Fuck you.
DIESEL
Fuck you. Give me your keys.
MAGNUM
Diesel.
DIESEL
Give me your fucking keys. Seriously
we‟re not going to catch Viper with
your shit driving.
MAGNUM
Fine, but don‟t get one scratch on
my baby, Lucille.
DIESEL
Lucille?
MAGNUM
Yeah, Lucille.
DIESEL
Shut up and get in the car.
MAGNUM
What can I say, I love old re-runs
of “I Love Lucy.”
DIESEL
Seriously, shut up and get in the
car.
MAGNUM
I will but, I‟m just saying that
Lucille Ball was a huge talent,
especially for her time period.
DIESEL
Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.
MAGNUM
(shocked)
Are you kidding me?
DIESEL
What?
MAGNUM
It‟s Viper…seriously, it‟s Viper.
DIESEL
He didn‟t even score a new ride;
still driving around in his
Lamborghini. That arrogant asshole.
(pause)
Hold on.
He goes down the off ramp and runs the red light at the end
of the ramp which makes cars coming from the other
direction hit the brakes or spin out.
MAGNUM
(points out)
There he is!
DIESEL
I see him.
Viper turns off the highway onto an off ramp, not knowing
that Diesel is right behind him.
MAGNUM
What are we going to do?
DIESEL
We‟re going to box him in.
MAGNUM
Remember what I said about getting
a scratch on Lucille.
DIESEL
Yes, it‟s been noted.
Viper looks into the Ferrari and notices that it‟s Diesel
and Magnum.
VIPER
Fuck. Damn you Diesel.
Viper abruptly puts his car into reverse, nailing the car
behind him, then quickly kicks it into high gear.
DIESEL
Bastard.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Yo Magnum. Reach into the glove
compartment and pull out the CD
labeled “Greatest Hits.”
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Time for some mood music.
Viper calmly pulls out his cell phone and calls Mr. X
again.
MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah.
VIPER
Temporary change of plans. It
doesn‟t look if I‟ll be able to
meet in 15 minutes.
MR. X (O.S.)
Is everything ok? It is imperative
that this assignment be carried out
today.
VIPER
(annoyed)
Don‟t worry, your assignment will
be carried out as planned. I have
never failed and I don‟t plan to
start now.
(pause)
I just hit a little delay, no big
deal. I will call you again in a
bit to update you on my status.
Diesel dodges all the slabs of beef rolling around the road
and the car crash pile-up, but the jackknifed truck is
blocking his exit.
MAGNUM
(scared)
Ummm, Diesel, what are you doing?
DIESEL
I‟m going to drive right under the
trailer. It‟s our only way out.
MAGNUM
(terrified)
I wouldn‟t do that Diesel, I wouldn‟t
do that. You don‟t know all the
exact angles of this car. You
don‟t know if we can make it.
DIESEL
It looks like we can fit.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
(yells)
Ummm, duck!
The car barely makes it under and in fact the roof of the
car actually rips off turning the Ferrari into a
convertible.
DIESEL
Oops.
MAGNUM
(angrily)
Oops?!? Oops!?!
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 120
DIESEL
I owe you a new Ferrari.
MAGNUM
You damn right you do! I want it
fully loaded too.
BASKETBALL PLAYER #1
In your face bitch! I‟ll be doing
that all day on you!
BASKETBALL PLAYER #2
Fuck you and just play.
BASKETBALL PLAYER #3
(yells)
Shit! God damn!
MAGNUM
(perplexed)
Where is he going, the race track?
PARKING LOT
A bell sounds, the starting gate opens and the horses are
off and running around the track.
THE CROWD
DIESEL
(calmly)
Well this is highly unusual.
MAGNUM
You got that right.
A jockey on the lead horse looks to his side and sees Viper
driving next to him. He does a double take not believing
what he‟s seeing.
Viper comes upon the entry point that he drove into and
exits the track through there. Diesel follows him.
THE CROWD
Viper speeds down the street leading out of the Calder Race
Track with Diesel behind him.
VIPER
(annoyed)
Come on, get the fuck out of my
way.
Another jumps into the driver‟s seat of one car and mauls
the driver as he desperately tries to roll up his window as
quickly as possible. The driver moans and groans.
MAGNUM
This day is just getting weirder
by the second. What the hell is
going to happen next?
DIESEL
(calmly)
It sucks that we‟re in a convertible
now. That makes us a bit vulnerable
to these tigers.
MAGNUM
(scared)
Shit that‟s right! Diesel, get us
out of here, get us out of here
Diesel!
DIESEL
Ok, ok, calm down though, we‟ll
be fine.
DIESEL
Damn, he‟s getting off the highway
again.
VIPER
Damn it!
Viper looks around and surveys the scene for ideas. Off in
the distance, he notices one of the NASCAR tractor trailers
from the earlier convoy stopped at a gas station. It‟s
Tony Stewart‟s #20 car trailer.
VIPER
Hey man.
Viper pulls out a gun from his waistband and shoots the
driver right in the head. He falls down dead immediately.
Viper grabs the keys off of the driver and unlocks the back
door of the trailer.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 126
The stockcar hits the ground and Viper speeds out of the
gas station and down the street.
Diesel comes to the end of the ramp and sees the #20
stockcar drive off in the distance.
Diesel turns onto the street and he also notices that his
car is running out of gas. He looks down at the gas gauge
and see it‟s on “empty.”
DIESEL
Shit, I‟m out of gas.
MAGNUM
Well there‟s a gas station at least.
MAGNUM
Well at least it shouldn‟t be too
hard to find someone driving Tony
Stewart‟s stockcar around the
streets of Miami.
DIESEL
Tony Stewart, huh?
MAGNUM
Yeah, that was Tony Stewart‟s #20
Home Depot car.
DIESEL
(impressed)
Magnum, I didn‟t know you were
such a fan of NASCAR.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 127
MAGNUM
Oh yeah.
(pause)
You know it‟s ok for a black man
to like NASCAR, right?
DIESEL
Well I guess there‟s a first for
everything.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Come on, let‟s go.
MAGNUM
Where are we going to go? He‟s
long gone.
DIESEL
Right. Let‟s just head to the
arena. We know for a fact he‟ll
be there.
Diesel and Magnum get back into the car and drive off.
The light turns green and the limousine slowly turns onto a
main road.
MASERATI SALESMAN
Sir, trust me, you cannot go wrong
with a Maserati. Our name, our
customer service, our commitment
to excellence are all top notch
and second to none. Believe me
you‟ll be the envy of your neighbors,
your friends, your co-workers,
even that guy you pull up next to
on the street corner if they see
you driving around in one of
these babies.
MASERATI SALESMAN
(smiles)
Very good sir. Come let‟s go
over to my desk and we‟ll start
the paperwork.
Viper gets out of the car and approaches the salesman, who
is now sitting behind his desk in the showroom, with his
gun drawn and pointed at him.
VIPER
Give me the keys to this car over
here or I‟ll kill you. Simple as
that.
MASERATI SALESMAN
OK, ok, ok, just don‟t shoot me.
VIPER
Have a nice day.
Viper walks over to the car and notices the scared couple
standing right next to it.
VIPER
Were you looking at this car?
VIPER
Were you going to buy it?
Viper looks over the car then looks back at the couple.
VIPER
You got good taste.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 130
Viper gets in the car and drives out of the showroom, right
through the window that he just crashed through.
MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah.
VIPER
We‟re back on track.
MR. X (O.S.)
Excellent.
VIPER
Meet me at Bayfront Park in 15
minutes.
MR. X (O.S.)
We won‟t have any other problems,
will we?
VIPER
Shut up and just meet me in 15
minutes. You‟ll receive further
instructions then.
MR. X (O.S.)
Yeah.
VIPER
OK, you‟re here?
MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.
VIPER
Do you see the black Maserati on
the street right outside of the
park?
MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.
VIPER
There‟s a garbage can about 20
yards away from my car, in front
of me. You see that?
MR. X (O.S.)
Yes.
VIPER
Drop the package in the garbage
can, then walk away. Do not
come any closer to my car than
that garbage can. I will shoot
if you attempt to approach my
vehicle. You got that?
MR. X (O.S.)
OK.
Viper rolls down his window, reaches out into the garbage
can and grabs the briefcase.
Viper takes out the cell phone and opens the note.
Both the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers, the two teams
in Game 6 of the NBA Championship, are warming up on their
respective sides.
KOBE BRYANT
Well it‟s very important. Miami
is a great team with a terrific
offense. Any time you have a
chance to close out the other
team, especially a team like the
Heat, you have to go for it. You
definitely don‟t want them hanging
around if you can help it.
KOBE BRYANT
Yeah, thanks.
MAGNUM
How do you figure we‟re going to
find Viper? Or the bomb for that
matter?
DIESEL
I don‟t know, but I‟m guessing he‟s
not just going to walk through the
front door.
(pause)
If I was him I‟d probably try to
sneak through the back.
DIESEL
Look, blood.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 135
Diesel and Magnum both draw their guns and proceed very
carefully past the gate.
DIESEL
He‟s dead.
(pause)
Watch out around here.
Diesel stands up and both him and Magnum walk very slowly
up to the loading dock area; guns still drawn.
Soon they find the other two guards that were shot.
DIESEL
Magnum, check him out.
MAGNUM
He‟s dead Diesel.
DIESEL
Yeah, this one too.
(pause)
Grab their ID badges.
MAGNUM
What?
DIESEL
Grab their badges so no one will
question us.
Diesel and Magnum take the ID badges from around the necks
of the security guards and they each put them on.
The ball is tipped off, the Heat gets the ball and the 1st
Quarter is underway.
Diesel opens the door of the loading dock and he and Magnum
enter the hallway.
DIESEL
OK, time to get lucky. You
search that way (points to the
left) I‟ll go this way.
MAGNUM
Right.
VIPER
Yes.
After running around the hallway, the two men re-group back
at the door.
DIESEL
Anything?
MAGNUM
(out of breath)
No, you?
DIESEL
No.
MAGNUM
It could be anywhere, come on
let‟s get the cops.
DIESEL
OK, fine.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 138
DIESEL (cont‟d)
Hold on, wait.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
You got a pocket knife on you?
MAGNUM
Sure do.
Once opened, both him and Magnum see that it‟s a dirty
bomb. Diesel closes the briefcase back up.
DIESEL
Whatever you do, don‟t make any
sudden movements.
MAGNUM
Jesus Christ. It‟s a fucking bomb!
DIESEL
I know it is.
MAGNUM
Let‟s find the cops.
DIESEL
No, not anymore.
MAGNUM
(surprised)
What?
DIESEL
This looks pretty complicated,
they probably won‟t be able to
defuse it in time.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 139
MAGNUM
So what are we going to do?
DIESEL
Find Viper, beat the piss out of
him until he disarms it for us.
MAGNUM
I knew you were going to say that.
DIESEL
Let‟s go to the Port.
MAGNUM
What, we‟re going to drive with this
thing?
DIESEL
Well how else are we going to do
this?
MAGNUM
(thinking)
I don‟t know.
DIESEL
OK, let‟s go to the Port then.
(pause)
We should have some time to work
with. Viper isn‟t going to detonate
this thing until he‟s well out of
range.
Diesel very carefully and slowly opens the door and walks
out of the hallway followed closely by Magnum.
DIESEL
How we doing over there Magnum?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 140
MAGNUM
Oh, besides the fact that I have
a dirty bomb sitting directly over
my crotch, I‟m doing just fine.
DIESEL
(laughs)
Well you‟re doing just fine. Hang
in there, we‟re almost at the Port.
MAGNUM
If you could at all hurry up without
triggering this thing, it‟d be much
appreciated.
DIESEL
(laughs again)
Don‟t worry, we‟re almost there.
Upon seeing the dead security guards laying all around the
ground, Diesel and Magnum jump out of the car.
DIESEL
Shit. Come on Magnum, let‟s find
this ship.
Diesel and Magnum run down the roadway and towards the
docks of the Port. Magnum is carrying the briefcase.
They run all the way to the edge of the Port and to the tip
of the water.
Diesel looks all around the Port and can‟t find the
Algerian cargo ship.
DIESEL
Well, where the hell is the ship?
MAGNUM
I don‟t know.
MAGNUM
(points out over
the water)
Look, there it is!
DIESEL
(deflated)
Great.
MAGNUM
We need a boat.
Magnum turns back around to face the water and sees Diesel
swimming. He‟s still holding the briefcase.
MAGNUM
Oh damn, you crazy, silly son-of-a
bitch.
(yells out to Diesel)
Diesel! Diesel!
DIESEL
Wait there. I‟ll pick you up in
a minute. Don‟t let that briefcase
out of your sight.
DIESEL
(yells)
Help me up!
The father reaches over and helps Diesel up onto the boat.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 142
DAD ON YACHT
You OK?
DIESEL
(out of breath)
Yeah, just fine.
DAD ON YACHT
What are you doing in the water?
Boat sink or something?
DIESEL
(out of breath)
I need to pick up my buddy at the
Port over there then I need to get
to that cargo ship out there as
quickly as possible.
DAD ON YACHT
Are you serious?
DIESEL
Yes.
DAD ON YACHT
That‟s impossible, I can never
catch up to that ship with this
boat. It‟s not that powerful.
DIESEL
OK, get me to that speedboat at
least.
DAD ON YACHT
Why?
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 143
DIESEL
You see that ship out there?
DAD ON YACHT
Yeah.
DIESEL
You‟ve heard of Viper, right?
DAD ON YACHT
Yeah, of course.
DIESEL
Viper is on that boat.
DAD ON YACHT
(cautiously)
Who are you?
DIESEL
Nobody really. Just some guy that
wants to see justice done.
(pause)
Please, just get me to that
speedboat, I‟ll take care of the
rest. You won‟t even need to pick
up my buddy at the Port. I‟ll do
it. Just get me to that speedboat.
DAD ON YACHT
Sure.
MOM ON YACHT
Is everything ok?
DAD ON YACHT
Yeah, everything‟s fine. We‟re
just making a quick pit stop.
Diesel rushes to the bow of the yacht and starts waving his
arms to get the speedboat‟s attention.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 144
DIESEL
(yells)
Hey! Hey! Hey!
DAD ON YACHT
It‟s no use, they‟re not paying
attention.
DIESEL
Do you have a flare gun?
DAD ON YACHT
What?
DIESEL
A flare gun.
DAD ON YACHT
Of course, why?
DIESEL
They‟ll pay attention to that.
DAD ON YACHT
OK.
The father runs to grab a flare gun then returns back and
gives it to Diesel.
DAD ON YACHT
Hey, you‟re not going to shoot the
speedboat, are you?
DIESEL
Hopefully not, that would defeat
the purpose. I‟m just going to get
their attention.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
(pushing the father)
OK, go, go, get the boat over there
to them.
The father goes back to the controls and they cruise over
to the speedboat.
GUY ON SPEEDBOAT
(angrily)
Hey man, what was the deal with
that? You almost hit us!
DIESEL
I need your boat for the greater
good.
GUY ON SPEEDBOAT
OK, ok, ok, just don‟t shoot man.
DIESEL
Get out of the boat.
(looks at the other
guy on the boat)
You too.
The two guys climb aboard the yacht as Diesel jumps onto
the speedboat.
DIESEL (cont‟d)
This nice gentleman can take you
back to the marina.
(pause)
Right?
DAD ON YACHT
Oh yes, oh yes, sure.
DIESEL
I‟ll return your speedboat back
to the marina in an hour, after
I take care of some business.
The family of four and the two other guys stand on the deck
of the yacht in total confusion.
VIPER
It‟s a beautiful day to sail, isn‟t
it?
VIPER
Ahhh a storm front. How apropos for
a day like this.
DIESEL
Get in.
MAGNUM
Good job Diesel.
DIESEL
Ready?
MAGNUM
Let‟s go.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 147
DIESEL
Take the controls.
MAGNUM
You sure you don‟t want me to come
up there with you?
DIESEL
No, this is my fight.
MAGNUM
(interrupts him)
This is our fight.
DIESEL
OK, true; but I‟ll handle this.
MAGNUM
But Diesel, I can…
DIESEL
(interrupts him)
No Magnum. I understand that we‟re
in this together, but it‟s also
personal to me. Let me do this.
Take control of the boat, I‟ll
need you to get us the hell out
of here.
MAGNUM
(smiles)
OK.
MAGNUM (cont‟d)
Good luck Diesel. Be careful.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 148
DIESEL
Keep the boat steady and stay close
to the ship at all times. You never
know when I‟ll have to make a quick
exit.
MAGNUM
OK.
DIESEL
No matter what happens up there…
Thanks.
MAGNUM
(smiles)
No problem, I‟d do anything for
you.
HALLWAY
LIVING QUARTERS
HALLWAY
VIPER
You certainly are a persistent
son-of-a-bitch, aren‟t you?
DIESEL
(coughing)
Yeah, I‟m too stupid to know when
to give up.
VIPER
Well this is the end of the line for
you.
DIESEL
Tell me where you planted the bomb?
VIPER
What makes you think I planted a
bomb?
DIESEL
It was the last thing Mohammed said,
before he became shark food.
(pause)
So tell me where the bomb is.
VIPER
Fuck you.
The once sunny sky is gone and now the area is engulfed in
a classic Miami thunderstorm, complete with tropical rain,
lightning and loud thunder.
Viper tries to kick Diesel again, but Diesel grabs his leg,
throws him down, gets up and starts kicking Viper in the
face.
DIESEL
No, fuck you!
This begins an epic fight between him and Viper all over
the deck. Punching, kicking, throwing each other around,
using foreign objects on the deck.
DIESEL
Give me the location of the bomb.
VIPER
Never.
VIPER
Checkmate asshole.
MAGNUM
Don‟t do this Diesel.
He takes off both layers of shirts and jumps into the water
to save Diesel.
MAGNUM
Hold on Diesel, hold on!
Magnum helps Diesel onto a seat and checks him out. Diesel
is a bloodied and beaten mess, with the blood mostly
centered around his stomach.
MAGNUM
You ok?
MAGNUM (cont‟d)
Hang in there.
DIESEL
(coughing)
Get as far away from the ship
as possible, now!
(pause)
Go!
MAGNUM
OK.
MAGNUM
Diesel, you OK? You‟re looking
much better now.
DIESEL
I‟ll be OK. I‟ll need a hell of a
doctor though, but I‟ll be OK.
MAGNUM
We good?
DIESEL
(smiles)
Oh, we good!
VIPER
Well, why delay the celebration
any longer, right?
Magnum and Viper see the ship explode in the very far
distance. By this time the ship is miles away from land.
MAGNUM
(laughs)
Now that‟s what I call “Mission
Accomplished.”
Magnum helps Diesel onto the dock and holds him up as they
walk.
The two are meet by a huge crowd that has gathered at the
Marina. The father from the yacht comes out of the crowd
with several officers.
DAD ON YACHT
(points to Diesel)
There he is officers, there is the
guy that took my boat.
DIESEL
Officers I can explain.
“Dade County” Original Screenplay by Jason Wiese 154
POLICE COP #1
(interrupts him)
So you‟re the one that found Viper
and presumably just put him in
his grave?
DIESEL
(cautiously)
That‟s right.
POLICE COP #1
Sir, the people of Miami, heck
the people of this country owe
you a huge debt of gratitude!
DIESEL
Thanks, I was just doing what
any other American would‟ve
done in my shoes.
MAGNUM
(yells out)
Let‟s hear it for Diesel!
Diesel and Magnum slowly walk down the dock and onto land,
the crowd follows their every step and continues to move
along with them.
Diesel and Magnum get on land, look out over the water for
a moment and try to continue catching their breath.
Then they give each other a high five and a manly hug; huge
smiles cover both of their faces.
FADE OUT
