Signed on June 26, 1945 in San
Francisco, CA.
The United Nations Charter is a
treaty that forms an establishes
the international organization
called the United Nations.
The goal is to maintain global
peace and establish good terms
among nations.

Establishment of NATO
On April, 4th 1949 NATO was
established.
NATO was a military alliance between
the United States, Canada, Great
Britain, and Western Europe.
It was a treaty for common defense
against the USSR.

Iceland Independence
Iceland gains
independence from
denmark on June 7th,
1944.
This is a celebration
every year all over
Iceland.

1. World War II
World War II was a
global war that started
on September 1, 1939
and ended on
September 2, 1945,
fought by the allied
powers versus the axis
powers.

Franklin Roosevelt.
-United Kingdom lead by
Winston Churchill.

2. Red Scare
The second Red Scare started after World
War II from 1947 through 1954. The second
Red Scare was most popularly known as
McCarthyism because of its most famous
supporter, Senator Joseph McCarthy.
People began to become scared of the
spread of communism and its spies.
McCarthy began to accuse famous
Hollywood movie stars of being communist.

Important People
Walt Disney (1901-1966)- An American animator, cartoonist,
director, and much more. Walt Disney is the one who created
the greatest place on Earth or Disneyland and Disneyworld.
Dwight David Eisenhower (1890-1969)- The 34th President of
the United States and General of World War II.
Franklin Roosevelt (1882-1945)- The 32nd President of the
United States. Roosevelt was the one and only to be elected four
time and was very popular in his era.
Jackie Robinson (1919-1972)- The first African American
Professional baseball player. Robinson changed baseball forever
when 42 was retired from anyone picking. Also, on April 15,
every player wears the number 42 in honor of Robinsons
achievement.

goes into operation at the
University of California.
First freeze-drying of food.
First vaccine against leprosy.

Atomic Bomb
The United States was the first to
set off the atomic bomb.
Albert Einstein made it.
At the time, uranium-235 was very
hard to extract.
In fact, the ratio of conversion
from uranium ore to uranium
metal is 500:1
