developmentally appropriate strategies.
Lauren consistently provided instruction that was not only curriculum based, but also engaging for the
students. She addressed student questions and problems appropriately. Her plans considered all types of
learning styles. She did, however, have some difficulty with time management. In her defense, our schedule
was not consistent every day. Teaching is all about being flexible, and Lauren worked on adjusting her plans
and activities accordingly. Overall, Lauren did an excellent job instructing the students.

Lauren quickly became aware of individual personalities and how to manage them in the class setting. Several
times she took students aside to discuss behavior issues and her expectations for classroom behavior.

Lauren had excellent control of these sixth grade classes. Her firm, yet calm demeanor established a clear
learning environment. The students respected her and behaved well for her.

We do have an administrative aide, but Lauren did not have the opportunity to plan/direct the aide's activities.
When conferencing at the end of the day, Lauren was self-aware most of the time of any needed
improvement. She was open to suggestions for ways to strengthen her instruction. Lauren also developed
positive relationships with the students, but maintained the difference between mentor and friend.
