Proposed thesis: Victims of cyberbullying experience emotional struggles but can get help from
schools or take matters into their own hands.

This source is scientific article that gives a lot more of the factual information of
cyberbullying while the article's main focus is to also talk about the emotional aspect of
internet harassment. The experiment, results and statistics is bonus information to better
support those who are affected and how those people are effected, to which in this article
are mostly middle-school aged students. The main idea is that cyberbullying significantly
affects a child's self-esteem.

Adolescents in school that are having trouble with cyberbullying do not have to try to
handle things on their own. This article shows the aspect from which schools try to do
something about cyberbullying. There are teachers taking into account to try to help out
these students. The idea of responsible internet use is talked about and how discipline is

needed to take place for those who cyberbully. Even schools can not prevent this alone.
Teachers and parents come together to better assure the safety of the child. The student
can lean toward the school so that they do not have to try to fight this problem alone.

As Described by Australian Young People." Youth Studies Australia. 29.2 (2010): 51-59. Print.
The article touches on the basics of cyberbullying but one of the other things it talks
about is the difference between traditional bullying and cyberbullying. It takes about how
much more dangerous it is for victims of cyberbullying and how it impacts their lives and
emotions much more. It touches on how being harassed through the internet rather than in
person, or traditionally, has a much more likely outcome of the result in suicide. This is
evidence that cyberbullying can affect someone's life so much to the point where they
take their own lives. Also, an extremely important section of this article is where they
talk of and collected data on coping strategies. Some of the ways to deal with the
situation were ignoring or avoiding the person, speaking out, lashing back at them or just
trying to stay positive.

Prevention." Computers in Human Behavior. 29.1 (2013): 26-32. Print.
As my most up-to-date source, the article talks about the dramatic increase in
cyberbullying in the last decade. It talks about the typical victims of cyberbullying,
majority being kids in middle school around the ages of 13 and 15 years old. And not
only does it discuss the impact on these victims but the motives behind the perpetrators.
A student's way to cope is talked about and it dives into prevention methods. They
discuss how schools try to help handle these kinds of situations and how they actually
have fairly high success rates in what they do.

of Computing in Teacher Education. 26.1 (2009): 35-42. Print.
This article's purpose is solely to educate the audience to the best of it's ability to inform
on everything about cyberbullying. This article perfectly talks about the different
situations of cyberbullying and how to prepare yourself for this possible future issue. It
talks about how cyberbullying significantly impacts young people across the world wide
web. There are several types of cyberbullying that adolescents should know about and
they are through e-mail, instant messaging, chat room, etc. It goes into detail about those
different ways to cyberbully. Awareness is one of the key points that is discussed in the
article which addresses one of the first steps in how to handle this kind of situation. It
makes three important points that states that cyberbullying is anonymous, has an infinite
audience and how sexual harassment is very common. These are huge factors that pertain
to the topic of internet dangers.
