Winter 2015 Health Fair at Westminster Civic Center:

Despite rainy weather during this winters health fair, VCH was still able to screen over 80 patients at the
Westminster Civic Center in the city of Westminster. Due to our extensive efforts in outreach and a venue
located in the heart of the Vietnamese community, we were able to offer our services to a great number of
individuals in need. Services provided at this health fair included hypertension and BMI screenings, glucose and
cholesterol screenings, dental services, bone density measurements, Hep B/C screenings, and vision
screenings. We also brought back our acupuncture and chiropractic services with the help of Healing Hands
for Humanity. All stations were occupied with numerous patients in need of these health services and
volunteers ready to help out.

VCH Internship 2015

Each year during winter quarter, VCH holds
Internship for members interested in becoming

more involved. Interns get a sneak peek at

what its like to be on staff by attending staff
meetings, helping to plan fundraisers, and by
simply getting to know staff better. The interns
got to develop new friendships and improve
At this years annual Tet Festival in Orange

leadership skills, and had fun all the while.

County, VCH got the opportunity to host its

own kids booth! VCH volunteers rolled out

bright and early to teach the kids about diet

and nutrition through an interactive game. The
kids sorted out different foods into their
respective categories and earned a free prize
in the end.

Kids Carnival
VCH organized a Kids' Carnival at Warner
Middle School in order to educate children
about health-related issues in a fun, interactive

Valentet Social

way. Members not only created a variety of

health-related games and activities, but also
gave prizes to the kids. It was a fun afternoon

playing with hundreds of kids and teaching

them about healthy nutrition and fitness
habits.

This quarter, VCH hosted a Valentines

Day/Tet social, hence the name Valentet!
Members came to play Jenga, Uno, bu cua c
cp, and more! They also got to participate in a
raffle in which we handed out paper lanterns,
snacks, and T-shirts.

VCH News:
We would like to recognize these members and extend our sincere gratitude for their
exceptional hard work and dedication to VCH.
