1. For someone working in your field, please describe the fantasies versus realities of the job.
(fantasy vs. reality)
The fantasy is people work alone. Everyones expertise is needed. The reality is there is teamwork,
considering lifting and brainpower is needed to get the job done.
2. What is your current educational level? What continuing education and training are required?

My current educational; level is 2 years of college. I continue certification programs,
recertifications. The training required is ASE certifications.
3. Please describe the typical day to day activities of someone working in your field.
(day-to-day activities)
I make sure everything is in order and am the first to arrive and last to leave. I help every
mechanic when needed and make calls for parts all day long.
4. How secure are you in your current position? What do you think is the future of your field?

I am very secure in my position. The future holds better technology and easier ways to work with
automobiles.
5. What is a typical (average or lowest to highest) salary of someone working in your field?

$700-$1000 per week is the average salary.

6. What potential for growth is there in your field?

There is a lot of potential for growth. More mechanics are needed with the growing number of cars
and the better at your job, the more you can improve.

7. Is the work field you are associated with stressful?
It is very stressful. There is always something to do and cars that could use improvements.
8. What education in college would most benefit someone pursuing your career?
There is a lot to do in college for my career. These include: speech, mechanics, LOTE, and definitely
Public relations.
9. Is it a social job? How so?
Yes there is a lot of communication. I interact with employees and customers every second. Always
have good communication.
10. Is there a lot of competition in the occupation you currently work?
Yes there is a lot of competition. Many people want to be service writers.
