Consumerdebtisnotusuallybeneficial,andinexcesscanchallengeanindividual's
abilitytomakeregularpayments.Ifdebtisusedtopurchasesomethingthathassome

circulatingintheeconomyifnotforbankslendingoutthismoney.
TakingintoaccountthattwothirdsoftheU.S.economyisbasedonconsumer
spending,itseasytosaythattheextraspendingpowerfinancedbydebt/creditis
importanttotheeconomy.Consumerspendingdoesntdifferentiatebetweencashand
debtbutonecancontrastaveragediscretionaryspendingversusaverageunsecured

companieshavedifferentinterestrates,termsandfees.Mostnotably,Visaisglobally

Creditcardsareservicedbybanksandcreditunionsworldwidethatuseacomputer

pointofsalewhichcommunicateswithwhatscalledan

Creditcardcompanieshavecallcentersandcardproductionfacilitiestoserviceand

standardastelevisioncommercialsorasvariedassportsvenues.Asidefrommarketing
andadvertising,thereisthecostofprovidingcustomerserviceoverthephonetoany
