The Home Front
WWII creates demand for employment and ends the Great Depression completely.
Japan and Germany underestimated Americas industrial capacity,

This means that: They did not understand that the US could build more tanks, planes, and ships
then they could.
The US doesnt so much out fight the Germans and Japanese- but rather out produces them!
Everyone is expected to do their bit.
Many valuable materials like, gasoline, sugar, and meat were rationed.
Women again, take on a new role. They started to do man jobs like
construction, engineering, manufacturing, factory jobs
They did everything but participate in combat

The treatment of the Japanese goes against the traditional narrative of the United States as the
good guys standing up to the evil Germans.
Understanding racism is essential to understanding American history.
