First Annual Undergraduate Conference “Confronting Major Challenges in the 21st Century”
April 16, 2010 Call for Papers
The Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution invites undergraduate students to participate in the First Annual Undergraduate Conference by submitting a research paper for presentation. This year’s theme is “Confronting Major Challenges in the 21st Century.” Students are asked to submit papers addressing one of the following topics:
Human trafficking, Environmental Issues, Immigration/Refugees, Role of the Media, Organized Crime, Global Financial Crisis, and Role of Religion in Society
Papers will be accepted into the conference based on the abstract submitted. Undergraduate students will be given the opportunity to present their papers on a panel with other students. Submission of Abstract All abstracts of proposed papers should be submitted to the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution by February 12, 2010. Abstracts should be 200-500 words and address the key components of your research paper. Please submit your abstracts by clicking on the link below and filling out the information form. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KHLVKN9 Notification of acceptance will be sent via e-mail by February 17, 2010. Deadline for Final Paper Submission Upon acceptance, the deadline for complete paper submission is March 12, 2010. Final papers should be sent to Kristin Moriarty at firstname.lastname@example.org in PDF format. Final Paper Papers should be 15-20 pages in length double-spaced. All papers should be original work and include appropriate references in a standard academic format such as APA, MLA or Chicago style. Awards Judges will evaluate papers based on creativity, originality, contribution to the field, and grammar and style. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the top three papers.
