guidelines for evaluating life extension of facilities.
Encourage similar handling of life extension internationally.
Ensure a common approach to handling applications for life extensions.
Increase competence in the understanding of ageing and life extension.

Identify state of the art in life extension of ageing offshore facilities
Identify knowledge requirements for ensuring sufficiently safe
facilities in life extension.

The importance and use of background information.

Methods of evaluating an existing facility, e.g. condition-based design.

Predicting future performance of an ageing facility.

Possible mitigations and methods to meet acceptable safety levels.

Identify knowledge gaps and required further R&D work.
