through your body).

discover their personality. Remind students to avoid picking many neutrals in
order to most accurately get their personality. While students are taking the test,

3. Pair and Share: Counselor will ask students to break into pairs to discuss their
personality types with one another. Students will be asked to explain their
personality to their peer. As students are discussing in pairs, the counselor will
walk around and listen to what the pairs are sharing and answer and explain any
questions about personality types that students may have.
4. Counselor will bring together the class and ask a series of questions.

Did you find it hard to answer some of the questions? If yes, what made it
difficult?
Were some of the questions really easy to answer? What made them easy?

What surprises you about your personality?

What seems to describe you best?

What are some of your strengths according to your personality?
Counselor will explain that we are now going to transition into careers that
compliment your personality type. Counselor will ask students a series of
questions:
Whats the difference between a job and career?
Why is it important to consider personalities while picking a career?
What careers do you think are fitting for your personality?
If you already had a career in mind, think about how your personality and
the needs that job has. Do you think your personality and career are a
match?
How do you think your personality impacts a working environment (i.e.,
working with other people, answering to a superior, etc.)?
5. Finding a Career: Counselor will have students research jobs online that could
be associated with their personality. Counselors should first direct students to
http://www.personalitypage.com/careers.html. Once students have found their
personality and the list of careers, students will have the opportunity to look up the
career that interest them most. Students will follow along with the worksheet and
answer the questions.
6. Counselor will divide students into groups to share their careers and worksheet

answers with one another. The counselor will walk around listening to students as
they describe their interests in careers.
7. Counselor will hand out post-test and dismiss the students.
Evaluation Plan:
The counselor will collect post-tests. Upon reading students answers, the
counselor will decide if another lesson is necessary for students. Additionally, the
counselor will walk around and actively listen and participate when students are
discussing their personality types and potential careers. This will allow the
counselors to identify any areas that need to be covered more in depth in future
lessons or individual meetings with students if needed.
Follow-Up Plan:
Students can schedule follow-up appointments with the counselor if they have any
questions or concerns about how their personality and career relate. Students can
also ask counselors questions about careers and personality type during the
lesson. If the counselor thinks another lesson is needed after looking at the pre
and post tests and listening to students, then another lesson can be created and
given.
