Topic: Birr & Ithm: Use and Maintenance of the Moral Compass  A discussion around Hadith #27 of the famous collection of Imam al-Nawawi's 40 Hadith: “Consult your heart. Righteousness is that about which the soul feels at ease and the heart feels tranquil. And wrongdoing is that which wavers in the soul and causes uneasiness in the heart, even though people may repeatedly give you their fatwa [in its favor].” By: Suheil Laher currently serves as Academic Dean at Fawakih Institute for arabic and Islamic Studies. After studying Electrical Engineering at MIT, he later earned an MA (Religious Studies) from Boston University and then completed his PhD in Arabic and Islamic Studies at Harvard University. He has also benefited from a number of teachers of traditional Islamic disciplines. He is married with 3 children.
