TRI-COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL LEAGUE

RULES & POLICIES

ONLY 6th graders will play in the 6th grade league games
** Exception if a team drops below 12 total players, they may use 3
players only in grade 7. The athletic director or head coach MUST call
the opposing team at least 3 days before the game to inform and ask
permission to do this.
All head coaches MUST provide a complete numerical roster with
players numbers and grade to the opposing head coach the day of all
league games. A suggestion would be to email a roster sorted by
number to the opponent.
Absolutely NO 9th graders are allowed on 7th & 8th grade teams.
The only Game Ball used in the TRI - COUNTY league is an FHSAA
approved Youth Size football. Please examine the team game balls
prior to kickoff. If a team does not have an approved football, they
must use the opponents football for the game.
All schools must have a medical person/ambulance on site for games
Game uniforms are DARK colored for HOME games, WHITE for
AWAY games Please inform opposing team if you only have 1 set of
uniforms and the color of that uniform. Any change must be mutually
confirmed and consented to by the opponents at least 2 days prior to
the game date.
A season can consist of a maximum of 8 games.
Most schools can provide water and sometimes ice for your games.
This does not mean to leave behind your coolers and cups or bottles.

Tie Breaker Rules:

Two Team Tie:
1. Head to head competition
2. Best record among common opponents
3. Team with the toughest schedule based upon the records of the other
teams played
4. Coin toss
Three Team Tie:
1. Head to head competition. If one team has defeated the other two they win
the tie breaker and the two team tie breaker applies to the other two schools
for the next places. If one team has lost to both schools they lose the tie
breaker and the two team tie breaker applies to the other teams for the two
spots above. If one team has not played the other two teams then the two team
tie breaker is applied to the other two teams with the winner of that tie
breaker going to a two team tie breaker with the third school.
2. If the three teams are still tied then the best record among common opponents
applies. The team with the best record wins the tie breaker and the two team
tie breaker is applied to the other two schools for the next two places. If two
teams are tied with the best record then the third school loses the tie breaker
and the two team tie breaker applies to the other two teams for the two spots
above.
3. If the three teams are tied than the toughest schedule among all opponents
played will apply and the same criteria as in #2 will apply.
4. COIN Toss (Dice)
