Maybe I lay temporarily still on the pillow next To yours, I hunger for peace, for tranquillity… I am far from
resting as I reminisce about the nights We made pictures out of stars. We were once glued together by the chests… Unbreakable, mutually connected. Inseparable at heart. We now face opposite walls, Our hands are mountains apart. We once fell asleep in each others eyes, Only air could fit between us as our breathing steamed them, We met in our trances… We now dream in different directions. Silence was beautiful then, When your gentle tired smile spoke for Itself, I knew you were happy. Now I cannot see your face through your back! We have grown into oblivion, an obscure state, We have become two continents. Unlike Istanbul… We do not have a bridge to join us, Or the power left to build one. Lately I am offended, but obedient to your new ways, I cannot break the promises I made, Though slowly, I too have started giving up, I too am running out! I don’t search for your feet to warm mine As they play hide-and-seek, I wont find them, there’s no reason to play. What can be worse than loneliness, when you are only a breath away? As I take a deep sigh, I know hope will perish again And disappear into the night. And when we rise with the sun tomorrow, I hope We can give it another go… Maybe we can learn to love each other again?
