Northridge High School Band Boosters

General meeting, March 16, 2015

President Myron Worley called the meeting to order just after 6:30 p.m.
Secretary Kellie Arendt reported that minutes from the previous meeting were
emailed to all on our list and sent to Vice President Annette Mast for inclusion on the
website. They will be printed, along with Annettes minutes from the previous
meeting, and available for approval at our next meeting.
Treasurer Jim Story presented the treasurers report showing a total balance of
$15,923.35 in our accounts. He also presented a final copy of a proposed form to
be used for requests for reimbursement of expenses incurred on behalf of the
organization. He is planning to have a P&L statement and Actual vs. Budget report
available for board meetings beginning in April.
In reviewing accounts with Director Brad Zook, they found some $4,000 in unpaid
band/guard fees that are now overdue. Story reported he will send out invoices for
these very soon. NHS Band Boosters will grant another 30 days to pay before the
accounts are turned over to the school office for normal collections proceedings
which includes withholding of report cards and diplomas.
Story reminded all that checks to the group must be made to Northridge Band
Boosters for us to be able to process the checks. If checks are written to the school
itself, they will be returned to the writer to be updated/re-issued.
The group received an in-kind donation from band parent Dawn Briskie, who owns
Pumpkinvine Quilting. Her business donated the cleaning services performed on
band mom Teresa Riegseckers sewing machine, which is valued at $65. Thank you,
Dawn and Pumpkinvine Quilting!
Vice President Annette Mast reported that volunteer shifts for the annual Pancake &
Sausage Breakfast have been shortened, which means more volunteers are needed.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas: kitchen and dining, bake sale, ticket
sales and silent auction, are needed. Tickets are $6 at the door or S5.50 if
preordered. Watch for the sign-up sheets in your email.
The flower sale will be from March 25 to April 24 with pickup on Friday, May 8, which
is Mothers Day weekend. Students will be selling flats of flowers to raise money to
pay for band fees.
NRBB is still seeking coordinators for the upcoming Pulled Pork fundraiser to be
conducted at Middlebury Summer Fest in August. If interested, contact an officer.
There being no further business, the group adjourned. The next meeting will be 6:30
p.m. Monday, April 20 in the NHS band room.
Respectfully submitted,
Kellie Arendt
