INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
A. Focusing event -Warm up: Video What does it take to be a CSI? T will ask Ss to get in groups of 3-4

TIME
1 min

B. Teaching procedures
-

Presentation:
a)

Activate prior knowledge: T will recall last day of class by askingwhat do you remember about

2 min

the CSI we were trying to solve?

b)

Emphasize function: T will assign the project to Ss and will give a summary of the case.

c)

Establish structures: Each group will be given a set of files (folders) which they have to read,

2 min
5 min

analyze and organize in order to get to the solution of the CSI

d)

Check-up: T will be monitoring Ss performance. He/She will be guiding the investigation by using
10 min
the Crime and Investigation simulation page.

Guided practice/ Controlled practice: Ss will be working along with the T on solving the crime scene.

Free practice: Ss will analyze each of the suspects and will decide who is the murderer

C. Wrap-up:
a.

Reteach activity (if needed):

killer/murderer.

F.

Homework: No homework assigned

10 min

EVALUATION PROCEDURES
a. Formative check: Diagnostic oral questions (how much do you know about the Scientific Method?)
b. Summative check: Paper work based on the CSI case file
