Electromagnetic Simulation by the FDTD

method in Java

The FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) is the most popular method for transient
electromagnetic simulation. The FDTD method belongs in the general class of differential
time domain numerical modelling methods. Maxwell's (differential form) equations are
simply modified to central-difference equations and implemented in software. The FDTD
program is developed in Java using object-oriented design principles and is available as
open source.
