SMART LEARNING GOALS

Name/s Gwen/ Katie / Katherine
Working in a Group
If you are working in pairs or a small group take some time to:

Establish protocols for working together (meetings: when, where, how often)
Create a shared vision-where do we want to be by the end of 2015
Ensure collective responsibility is in place-who is doing what?

Good professional relationships between teachers in a group are important for the growth of
a learning community. Groups should be inclusive and based on trust, respect and support.

My/Our Area of Passion: Modern Learning Environment and
Collaborative Teaching

student achievement.

are our wonderings?
What are the logistics of operating a reading programme?
How does this look different from our previous reading programmes?
How does it feel for the students?
What strategies can we implement and what resources support these?
How can we record student voice effectively?
How can we manage the transition between single cells and modern learning
environment?
o How do we handle the dynamics of the developing the collaborative teaching teams?
o Can collaborative teaching have a positive impact on our Pacifica students and boys
achievement in writing?

What is your rationale for selecting this goal?
o
o

This is where the year 7 and 8 team is naturally progressing towards, with the
introduction of the modern learning furniture and the discussion of the removal of walls.
Personal next steps for teaching is o teach collaboratively.

What do you think the impact of this goal will be on student learning?
o
o

Students have greater ownership over their own learning.
Driving their own learning more, which will develop their overall learning but also their
key competencies.
